I have been practicing massage since January of '03. I attended East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon and graduated in the fall of '02. I have worked closely with chiropractors and other natural health care practitioners for most of my career and really believe in a whole body, systemic, multiple practitioner approach to keeping patients on the road to wellness.
I really kind of fell in to massage therapy at the age of 20, just desiring to have a career, but not the student loans that come with a degree. I grew quickly in my love for massage as I dove deeper into that world. I found that I myself was greatly helped physically and mentally by the treatments I was receiving as I moved through the schooling and I don't know how I could have ever gotten by without it! I very much love to bring natural therapies into people's lives and help them know that they do not have to live in constant pain, nor do they have to be cut up or taking a cocktail of pills to be able to manage their lives.
Most people are sore for 24-48 hours after my treatments, first time clients included. But after the soreness goes away, most folks report that they can move more freely and at least some of their tension and pain is diminished. Sleeping issues usually improve quickly as well.
