Amy is such a bright light and gift to all who know her. She has such incredible insight into mindfulness and spirit, compassion & self care. I plan on taking her next mindfulness meditation series and can not wait to get started!! She truly listens and cares for people in a way that is as unique as she is.
I started my journey with Amy a couple years ago by attending one of her 8 week mindfulness courses and proceeded to attend her SMART weekend, both of which were amazing and eye opening. Based on these two wonderful experiences I decided to continue my journey and begin one:one sessions. Amy has a unique way of hearing what I say... and deciphering what I am really saying... and then always seems to be able to give me the tools to help me work through whatever the area of struggle is for me at that point in time! I am truly grateful to have found her and to have her in my life!

About me

My heart hurts when I see people struggle with stress and anxiety due to life circumstances. Whether dealing with a new diagnosis of cancer, ongoing chronic illness, dissatisfaction at work, or social anxiety, I help people feel better. Working with me clients gain insight and perspective into how they are experiencing in the body, heart and mind. They learn that feelings and fears are normal and once allowed to surface, can be acknowledged, honored and released. Through time clients gain access to their personal strength that guides them to make the changes needed to live happier, healthier lives. One client summed it up perfectly when she said, “Amy doesn’t guide you, she gives you the tools and skills to guide yourself.”

My Philosophy of Care

I am inspired by the human spirit to meet difficult challenges. And I also see the way that fear, stress, and anxiety can take over and cloud peoples access to this power and strength. This calls me to ask good questions, reflect back to them the strength I see and encourage them to engage more fully with their precious human life. When they do, magic happens! They learn that their life, hopes and dreams are important and matter completely.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

I feel better already! I learned something new in this visit that helps me know I have inner strength to take the next steps. I have a guide to walk with me, I don't have to do this on my own, I can ask for support and receive it. Growing self-awareness needs a partner, and I feel safe with Amy.

My Inspiration

Coaching is like exploring a river, and the river is you and your life.

In the beginning you might be gently paddling along a slow-moving current, hang out in an eddy for a while, learn a few things about how you adapt or avoid, what you could do better, or what you could let go of. And you could end up in some rapids seeing the ways you flail and struggle making things harder than they need to be. And with support you tap into the mysterious inner strength and wisdom that leads you through to the other side.

In the end you, the client, chooses what specific action steps you will take to navigate the river of your life, with the intention to find more ease, clarity and strength.

This exploration could be about anything. Your body/mind system is interconnected, so how you think and feel about health, illness, anxiety, stress, relationships, work and your sense of self is open for discussion and exploration. Along the way I am right there with you asking questions that open up insight, reflecting back your strengths and challenging you to take that next scary step so you are embodied and alive in your precious human life, making the changes you desire.

Amy has a way of making you relax just by talking to you! She helped me to learn how to value myself, to use my own strengths to achieve my own goals. When I can’t sleep, or if I am very stressed, I just breathe the way she taught me to do. I am aware now of who I am, now and I can look into my own mind, to help with pain or fear. Amy can make you feel better just by entering the room she has a warm, open comfortable presence! I love that she has a medical background so she can reference how your body is affected from many different perspectives, and can talk about how stress-reduction techniques can help you mentally and physically. About ten years ago I joined a support group for blood cancer patients. Amy was the facilitator. Ten years later that group is still going, thanks in large part to Amy's outstanding work in helping us to live with cancer. She is always kind, thoughtful, polite, and well-informed as well as skillful in keeping the conversation on point. Amy's good work also helped me after the death of my husband. I took one of her 6-week mindfulness classes. Then I took it again. Through a very difficult time I once more found that her leadership, resources, suggestions and insights to be extremely helpful. Time passed but what I learned from her continued to be relevant. Now, in a time of great stress, her guidance and the techniques she demonstrated are still helping me to find calmness and beauty, even joy, in the midst of crisis. I strongly recommend Amy to anyone who is eager to find a better way in life.

My first experience with Amy was through attending her 8 week mindfulness course. Through the guidance of her class I gained insight into some patterns of thinking that were causing unnecessary stress in my life. Since then I have attended a repeat 8 week mindfulness course, SMART weekend, a 3 month class and a Silent retreat. Clearly, I have found my work with her quite useful.
