After 10+ years of practicing family medicine in various settings, seeing the same patients with the same chronic conditions over and over again in a busy practice without much improvement, I began to question the focus of traditional medicine. After some research, I started learning about lifestyle medicine and how it addresses the root causes of disease - nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress reduction. The more I learned, the more I was hooked and used my knowledge successfully in my patient interactions. I started Diya Lifestyle and Wellness to more easily help individuals and families use evidence-based, scientific information and guidance on diet and lifestyle change to improve their health.
My clients are surprised by the in-depth questions that they are asked both before and during the visit. Most medical professionals have 15 minutes in the office with patients and are not able to get information on the root causes of disease. Diya Lifestyle and Wellness prides itself on getting to know clients in a holistic, comprehensive way.
