I went to see Avinoam in June 2020 after my father took his life on May 23 of this year. I was sent by a friend who had wonderful things to say. I wasn’t expecting anything but I wanted to grieve in the healthiest way possible for me and my children so I was open to anything that might help. I was so close with my father; he was my person. I couldn’t sleep, eat and was experiencing panic attacks until I saw Avinoam. I saw Avinoam about three weeks after my father’s death. I tell everyone I know that Avinoam is my angel, he helped me so much. I don’t have any of the childhood trauma I was carrying with my my whole life, I feel a thousand times lighter. My father’s legacy is not his last act but the incredible man, father, grandfather, brother and man he was. I don’t have panic attacks anymore and I can sleep. I still cry and miss him terribly but I know he’s with me. I never could have gotten here myself, Avinoam got me here. I believe he has a gift and going to him was the best gift I ever gave myself. If I hadn’t seen him, I would be in a very unhealthy spiral wouldn’t be fair to myself, my children or his memory. I am thankful to Avinoam every day. I tell everyone I know who has suffered a loss to see Avinoam, you don’t need to suffer.
I smoked for 34 years. I quit once, through willpower and acupuncture, it was miserable. I lasted a month… the stress got me. 8 months ago i went to see Avinoam. I had decided to shop around for the best hypnotist i could find in the greater Boston area. (I would have driven to New York if I'd had to.) I'm not new to hypnotism, I've tried it a few times in the past. A lot of times I find it to be more like advanced meditation. I have however (years ago) had the experience of deeper hypnosis and knew that it might be very effective in helping me resolve some really old deep seated conflict i was carrying around smoking. I wanted to quit. I had told my doctor i was going to quit by the time i was 50. Anyway I asked around, I know a lot of people in Boston. Avinoam was the top recommendation for the kind of regression type hypnosis i was looking for, especially if it involved internal conflict. So here i was in his office. It's a lovely space, i felt peaceful. He is a clear, firm and kind human being. gets right to the meat of the problem and listened deeply. he made me feel safe, heard, calm. His boundaries (and mine) felt very clear. once we were set up well he started with the hypnosis... and let me tell you, I was WOWED. I'd never had someone get me so easily and deeply into that deep subconscious space. he listened and followed the conversation, negotiation and release work i needed like the pro he is. i could hear and remember everything even when i went super deep. I haven't smoked in 8 months.... going on 9… Sure I miss it sometimes. but I made some clear agreements with myself. really clear. and even through this pandemic. even through unemployment, and crazy amounts of stress, I am still here. 34 years a smoker… 8 months without. thankful forever for the gift of this man.

About me

Offering an innovative approach to cancer, trauma and addiction recovery which highlights the multidimensional nature of illness/trauma, and the need to treat their root cause and underlying motivation at the level of the mind. More specifically the subconscious mind.

This approach is grounded in the scientific study of Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI). It offers individuals seeking to play a more active role in their recovery, a safe, practical, meaningful and effective path to do so. This path allows those I work with to engage and enlist the innate mechanism of their Mind to address the triggers at the core of their symptoms, and resolve the mental and psychological patterns driving their experience.

As a result, clients become more resilient mentally, emotionally and physically and more able to cultivate a mindset conducive to health and quality of life.

My Philosophy of Care

Growing up in a war torn part of the world and witnessing the devastating impact of trauma.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

"Deeply transformative, freeing, holistic and goal oriented at the same time. Very different from the conventional practice of therapy."

"For me it was Avinoam's skillful facilitation coupled with the condensed 15 hours format of his program that made it possible for me to penetrate and address the mental and psychological at the root of my suffering.

I recently received a cancer diagnosis and while researching alternative and supportive therapies, I came across Avinoam Lerner’s name and some descriptions of his work, which includes exploring the intersection of trauma and illness recovery at the subconscious level. (I also had childhood trauma that had never truly been addressed.) I took advantage of the free phone consultation he offers, and immediately knew that I needed to work with him. I’m actually only part way through a series of sessions we set up right now, but already feel some profound shifts in my energy, my attitudes about working through what comes next, and in my very being. Avinoam Lerner has an amazing gift for this kind of work. He is kind, direct, clear, obviously a brilliant expert in the field, and embodies the highest of professional ethics, with clear and safe boundaries established and honored. He is patient, explains all that is going on, and truly listens & cares. It’s hard to find enough superlatives to describe working with him, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone seeking truly effective work on Cancer, Trauma, or Addiction Recovery.
This past year was extremely difficult for me, and I can say with certainty the work I have done with Avinoam Lerner was invaluable. His approach is holistic, deeply compassionate, kind. wise, — and most of all, effective. I was in severe pain, both physically and emotionally but now feel restored and renewed. If you’re looking for a client centered, original, thoughtful and giving hypnotherapist, he is it. If you’re suffering and seeking relief, I can’t recommend him enough.
I had a great experience with Avinoam! He was quickly able to understand and connect with me and I had many revelations about what was causing my anxiety and stress in life. Together we managed to breakdown the pieces from my life that have made me who i am today and how I can use those memories as building blocks and healing tools. Since our sessions, I have reflected on many conversations we had and have been using the tools he gave me to handle uncertain situations. I highly recommend seeing Avinoam. He gets right to the route of the issue and doesn't buffer. Everything had an answer if you let him dig a little deep. It was a life changing experience!
I visited Avinoam after facing my third sarcoma recurrence in 18 months. Unfortunately, my third recurrence left me facing a stage IV diagnosis with an extremely aggressive cancer. Prior to my stage IV diagnosis, I approached healing primarily through the lens of conventional treatments and positive changes in my physical realm - nutrition, exercise, and supplements. However, after my cancer metastasized to my lung, I knew I had to take a “whole person” approach to healing - mind, body, and spirit. Once I learned about the power of harnessing the mind in healing the body, I knew this was my next chapter in healing. I learned about Avinoam after listening to an interview he did with my naturopathic doctor. I was immediately intrigued. As a former competitive athlete, I knew firsthand that, if trained/harnessed properly, the mind could become a competitive advantage, leading to success in sports. While I knew that was the case in athletics, I was struggling to figure out how to turn my mind into an asset in my cancer healing journey. After contacting Avinoam for his free 30 minute consult (that lasted over an hour because he was patient, passionate, and willing to answer all my questions), I knew this was something I wanted to do and I never looked back. I traveled 1,200 miles to meet 1:1 with Avinoam, in hopes that he could help me get my mind in a position to drive healing that I so desperately wanted. I highly recommend working with Avinoam. Here’s why: 1. This is his passion, his life’s work, and he’s An expert at his trade. His knowledge is incredible. 2. He cares about his clients. He is invested in the time he spends with you. You are his focus and I believe he sincerely and genuinely wants to see his patients heal. That said, he requires work from his patients and he expects his patients to hold up their end of the bargain. 3. He has created a model that works. Avinoam arms his patients with scientifically backed tools that help them carry forward the change that is established during the 1:1 intensives. After going thru the process, I can’t stress how critical the trauma clearing work really is. Unlike traditional therapy, Avinoam’s approach clears trauma quickly by accessing the subconscious mind. If you find yourself feeling like that isn’t for you, it is. After doing it, I believe it’s something everyone would benefit from doing. I’m three months out from starting my journey with Avinoam and I am happy with the progress I am making. I am cultivating new habits that I believe break old cycles and will set me on a new course in life. If you are toying with the idea of seeing Avinoam and you want to talk with someone who has been through his cancer intensive workshop, I would be happy to answer any questions regarding Avinoam and his approach. It is difficult to put into words, but it is truly one-of-a-kind and I am so thankful for the healing experience.
Thank you for changing my life Avinoam, this has been a wonderful step on my journey!! I know what we’ve done has affected me energetically, spiritually and mentally. Physically, I feel the difference inside and it gets easier for me to find a place of quiet, peace and gratefulness before I rush into the day. Lisa B.
