My motto in life is "you can never have enough education". I live by this. I am continuously learning and and fine tuning my skills and practice. Although I have learned many, many modalities, Shamanism and Nature Connected Coaching has been my core passion.
What is Shamanism? Shamanism is practiced throughout the world and is one of the oldest healing modalities. All cultures have their own twist, but it essence it is the same at the core. A Shaman uses an altered state of consciousness or reality to seek healing. In this altered state, or journey, the shaman connects with teachers, healers, guides, animals, elements and elementals for teachings, knowledge and messages. These teachings and messages are shared with clients for healing.
Typically, as in my practice, a drum or rattle is used to enter these states. The shaman may assist the client on a guided journey to help them find teachings and messages from those of the 'unseen'.
These journeys can be quite powerful and profound.
Nature Connect Coaching, or mentoring, is using nature as a healing source. Helping clients reconnect to nature for clarity to life challenges. Many times, when possible, these sessions take place outside.
At times, multiple modalities are combined to create a unique healing experience for my clients; essential oils, hands on body therapies, Reiki/ energy work and yoga.
I have been practicing RN working in conventional medicine for 20 + years, but my true passion is "alternative therapies". I have always been one who "thinks outside the box". I was exposed to alternative therapies or natural therapies while in high school. I found them to be very intriguing, and have dedicated my life to learning and practicing these therapies.
As an additional note... animals... big and small I have been a huge part of my life and bring me the greatest joy. The loss of one of my beloved dogs, Zeus, was a catalyst to me jumping deep into shamanism, energy work, essential oils, etc. So, most of my practice extends to working with animals.... of all kinds.
What does it mean to me to help others? I love watching the transformation of my clients. To see the "wow" moments that happen! It is very humbling and inspiriting to see how nature and natural sources, which are many times over looked and taken for granted, can be so powerful and healing.
