Cary has been my massage therapist for 16 years and there is a very good reason for that - she really is the best. I tried a number massage therapists before Cary and even tried some that were gifted to me, and no one has ever demonstrated the care and knowledge that Cary has. You know she has a deep understanding of anatomy by the way that she works. Cary’s assessments are specific for each person she is working with, rather than a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Her care is holistic, body and mind, and after a massage or Reiki treatment with Cary, I feel an overall wellness that stays with me. Having Cary in my life has been a life changing experience. About me

I started my journey in the wellness field in 2000, attending Massage Therapy school in Arizona. This gave me such an appreciation for anatomy and physiology (which I went on to teach in 2006). The human body is a marvel and this made me want to know more. I studied on my own for years, helping my clients take their health and wellness to the next level beyond the massage table. When my children were old enough for me to pursue my education further, I earned my certificate in Integrative Nutritional Health Coaching from IIN. Here, I gained in-depth knowledge in nutritional theories and was guided to take a holistic view of my clients' lives to find stress factors and imbalances because it it all impacts health and wellbeing. Working as a team with my clients, we aim to help these areas in their lives and to learn new strategies to help with future issues, in order for them to have long term success in their wellness goals.
I lead workshops and offer one-on-one health and nutrition coaching, massage, and Reiki. I will guide you in choosing the right treatment to help you reach emotional and physical wellbeing, tailoring all sessions to your specific needs with an emphasis on holistic health.

My Philosophy of Care

I started my career in Social Work and saw directly how living conditions and stress all had an impact on physical health of my clients and likewise, how their physical health then caused more stress in other aspects of their lives like finances, relationships etc; it was a vicious circle. I saw massage as a way to help them destress, reconnect with their bodies, and ease some of their physical discomfort. It has been a gradual journey in those 20 years to other modalities that can help treat the whole person, including Health Coaching and Reiki.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

Whether I'm seeing someone for Massage Therapy, Health Coaching, or Reiki, I start with no assumptions; I spend time really listening to their unique situations and specific needs and start where they are comfortable. With Health Coaching, I provide a free half hour consultation to make sure I am the right fit for your needs.

My Inspiration

Everyone could use a Health Coach! Especially if you feel "stuck" and have been unsuccessful in breaking certain habits or starting heathy ones. I can provide ideas, motivation, accountability, and help you lay out and stick to your plan. Let's talk it through and find where the roadblocks are and how you can get past them! Health Coaching involves meeting twice a week and email support between meetings, ideally for 3-6 months depending on the situation.

Cary is amazing for a number of reasons. I came to her because I was suffering from chronic fatigue and chronic low-grade inflammation due to an autoimmune disease. I hoped she could help me find a way to eat that would ease my symptoms. She did that and more. She helped me structure my life so that I could maximize my time and energy. And she did it with affection, patience, and good humor. Cary didn't try to impose a one-size-fits-all solution on me. She worked with me to determine what foods make me, personally, sick. She listened to my feedback and came up with suggestions that would work for my life and individual tastes. She is incredibly practical and non-judgmental, and has an amazing amount of information. She's also incredibly generous - with her time and her ideas. During the week I would receive emails when she found something or thought of something she believed would help me. And when I came in for my meeting, it was the same thing - she had new ideas based on something I'd said at the previous meeting, she brought books she thought would be helpful, recipes, etc. It felt as if she were truly thinking of me and what would work for my situation. She also gets it that sticking with a new program can be tough. Her understanding and her ability to help you find ways to overcome your bad habits are phenomenal. She's warm and so clearly wants to help. The good news is she can - she has the knowledge and disposition to make her a great health coach. I can't recommend her highly enough.
Cary is exceptional. I have been getting massages from her for years, through two pregnancies, post-road race, and just for some much needed stress relief. She is my go-to Boston lady for all things massage and wellness. So excited she is in the South End!!
Cary is a phenomenal health coach and a wonderful person. if you are at the beginning of your journey, or fed up - Cary can help. For me, I was looking to lose weight and be healthier, sure, but moreover I was looking to understand how to go about doing that, and stick with it - I felt like I had tried everything. She understood quickly what I was looking for and began to explore many areas to find out what worked for me. We discussed: - Exercise/body programs; yoga, gym schedules, types of classes, multiple massage techniques, among others, - Food ideas; juicing/body shock, portion control, vegan, food elimination etc, - Mental Health; journaling, self check ins, understanding what works for me! etc... ^^^Some of these things I have tried by myself with little to no success, but Cary had a way of collaboratively setting expectations and goals with me that not only gave me the ability to meet them, but also made me WANT to exceed them. Cary is a gem with a TON of knowledge - 6 months from now - you'll feel lucky to have found her.
