Casey Mauro has been my Yoga Therapy Teacher for 6 sessions now. I have noticed improvement in so many areas of my overall health that doctors or pills could not address. Casey is a great listener and Teacher and I can't imagine going back to my old misconceptions . she has changed my attitude and I wish I could get some of my friends and family to give yoga with Casey a try.

About me

A native Jersey girl, Casey grew up in a little beach town dancing, riding horses and surfing. Casey holds a B.A. in Biology/Neuroscience and is a Certified Yoga Therapist. She worked as a neuroscience research assistant at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, while pursuing a career in dancing, modeling and acting.
Venturing on to Los Angeles, she has combined her love for movement, neurophysiology, nutrition and yoga into a private practice. Breathe. Move. Recover. will help others discover how to bring themselves back to balance with nature and create a sustainable lifestyle to be the most authentic, empowered self. 

My Philosophy of Care

A lifetime mover and groover paired with a never ending curiosity for learning and increasing the quality of life. Whether it be under the microscope and applying those observations with the macro world with which we live or experiencing the daily adventures of life, I have dedicated my life to helping others find their inner superhero aligned with the quantum field.
As a professional dancer I learned early on, Injuries are one of the greatest teachers in diving deep into the inner workings of the body mind and soul and you don't always need prescriptions and surgeries. I suffered a concussion and whiplash while dancing in 2009 that left me looking at possibly never dancing again. The Neurologist told me to make it better I should just "stop dancing" and gave me some pills. I cried, walked out of the office and threw away the prescription. That was NOT an option. Never let anyone steal your passion. I found a dedicated practice to manual therapies and nutrition that helped heal my brain, neck and crushed heart. My opinion on Western Medicine had changed and I began diving into more holistic approaches by looking at the science and ancient wisdom practices. This continues to inspire me today as my endless curiosity and ability to learn and adapt greatly benefits my clients and their ability to heal from dis-ease.

My Inspiration

I did not choose to become a healer, it fell naturally to me and I have continued to follow down that path. My ability to be incredibly in tune with my own body and self has been the largest education how to translate that into being able to hold a mirror for others to see how they too can heal themselves with tools from a blend of ancient traditions and Western medicine.

When I started working with Casey, I had dislocated my right shoulder twice. The second time I was looking for more options than just physical therapy exercises. That’s where Casey came in. She gave me multiple options including stretches, food planning to lessen inflammation, cupping, and exercises I hadn’t been introduced to before. She is not only very thoughtful and skilled in what she does, she is kind. She knows the human body but also takes time to get to know the human within the body. I trusted her with my shoulder injury and she guided me with confidence. I know both my body and my headspace are in a better place due to working with Casey. She is truly a gem. I highly recommend letting her guide you to a healthier lifestyle in any capacity!

Between my Anxiety and physical pain and me being a mouth breather from clogged sinuses and my PTSD in a nutshell I wasn't thinking right , breathing right and therefore was starting to lose hope that I could feel better. If you give her a try with just one session you will see.
I suffer from intense shoulder/neck and hip pain, and all I can say is, "Casey is a goddess!" The way she performs cupping is so powerful; she knows exactly where to place the cups so that they provide instant relief. Not only that, but within a day, I felt like a new person! She is also an incredible stretcher; she worked my muscles in a way that helped the stagnation that had been forming in my body, and she taught me how to properly stretch to alleviate much of the pain I was feeling. I get chronic migraines, and after a few sessions with Casey, I was feeling looser, re-invigorated, and pain-free! I would DEFINITELY recommend her! PS. She's also an amazing nutritionist!
Just got home from running errands on my Vespa. Pressing the foot brake requires me to sit with my knee at 90 degrees. Today was the first day I can actually do that! Before our sesh, I’d have to sit far back in the seat in order to have ‘comfortable’ (straighter knee) access to that foot brake with my knee bent only slightly. Cool. Again, it’s reassuring to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Can’t wait for our next session!
Casey that was wonderful, effective and personally timely! I had been stumped by an unwarranted, indecipherable anxious/depressed feeling today and you zapped it out the window! You also hit the nail on the head when I asked about the analogy to "living in the moment!" I've learned from a YouTube medical presentation that depression mentally traps you in the past with an inability to envision the the hopeful future...the screen is blank. No good old days, just reliving pain and mistakes. You summed up that hour long psychiatrist's YouTube lecture I watched in one sentence! Now the only concern is if my melatonin bottle would make a good flower vase.
