Abigail's Story
I like many have suffered from digestive issues for most of my life. In fact, it runs in my family. After seeing several Gastroenterologists, going through several different invasive procedures, being told it was “ all in my head”, and being put on heavy pain medications and antidepressants I decided to start my own research. I studied the digestive system, herbs, inflammation, acupuncture, chiropractic care and tried numerous diets. All of this did help to an extent but I always felt like I was missing something. I was introduced to dōTERRA essential oils 5-years ago and truly believe this was the thing that has brought me to a new place in my health. That is why I recommend many of their products. I am now living a life I never believed I could live and that’s why I want to share my experience and knowledge. I know I am not alone in this struggle but I have found healing and want that for others too.

What is MCS? is it a medical condition or something else?

What got me started with using essential oils was the need to support my body through seasonal allergies and inflammation. I did so with Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint essential oil. I didn't change my diet other than I slowed by dairy consumption, and was not taking any OTC drugs or prescriptions.

I just heard a lecture recently when the company tested a various amount of CBD in the marketplace and found that all of them contained some levels of THC in them (I don't currently have the literature and acknowledge that it may be splitting hairs). The level of THC may not be enough to affect the CB1 receptor (which creates the psychoactive responses), and CB2 receptors (which gives us pain relief). A safe alternative to CBD is Copaiba (which comes from trees in the Amazon Rainforest) Copaiba’s main chemical component is beta-caryophyllene, a chemical similar to cannabinoids found in cannabis that may protect nerve cells and have benefits for the cardiovascular and immune systems.* However, while caryophyllene is responsible for some of the bioactive properties of Copaiba, many of the other properties of the oil are thanks to the diterpenes uniquely found in Copaiba. Additionally, Copaiba has been administered orally to promote the health of cardiovascular, immune, digestive, respiratory, and nervous systems.
