I am a physical therapist with 20 years of experience who has learned that we each have the capacity to listen to the signs of our body to harness optimal health. During years of treating in traditional settings I have learned that harnessing the mind-body connection is critical to overcoming chronic dysfunction. I have developed a coaching program that focuses on cultivating balance in the nervous system to allow for change elsewhere in the body. I have worked completed extensive continuing education in the field of women's health including completion of an Endometriosis Coaching program. You can find me delving into the latest scientific research in women's health, playing with my two daughter's or striving to be the healthiest version of myself.
By the age of 5, I was exercising with my father and asking if my form with the exercises was correct. I had several female health related sports injuries over the years and often felt unheard or incompletely treated. Early on I began to experiment with my own techniques of recovery and discovered my love of nutrition and cooking. The dream of integrating my knowledge of physical therapy principles with my love of wellness and prevention has been rooted in my being for years. Discovering my passion for understanding the complexity of a the breathing system and how breath impacts total body function developed after my first baby was born. A bout with pelvic pain and back pain led me down the path of coaching and looking beyond the physical pain symptoms. This lead to understanding how stress, motor planning and insight impacts physical recovery.
My clients are always amazed that I spend so much time just listening to their story. Whether our session is live or virtual my primary goal is to listen to my clients. As we progress through the evaluation whether for PT or coaching, I am able to help them immediately connect with their body in a new and empowering way.
We typically think of PT as a beneficial modality when we are in so much pain that we have no other choice. However, my practice is dedicated to empowering clients to avoid chronic injury or recover from chronic injury in a way that empowers them to take on independence and ownership of their health. Coaching for chronic pain is a powerful tool in restoring function, joy and freedom to a client's life. Often we work to rewrite your body's story and harness your inner wisdom to find success.
