I'm starting with my own results. Before I met my coach, I was sinking into a pretty dark place. We started with the Dream Builder program, which helped to steady me some. I then did "Standing Firm," which is an intense 4-week program for people, like me, in their "dark place." While this doesn't work overnight, it helped to lift me higher so I could better utilize the Dream Builder program.

About me

My name is Dave DeCoursey and I'm a certified Life Mastery Consultant with the Life Mastery Institute. I'm also a health and fitness coach with Team Beachbody and a NASM certified personal trainer with a Senior Fitness Specialist and a Weight Loss Specialist add-ons.

I spent most of my life working in the computer field, working through the ranks of operator, programmer, becoming a database administrator before the personal computer boom hit. I then became a software engineer on the Macintosh. I ended my career in IT support for a small company. The company was sold and I was let go. And I started the journey on the next phase of my life.

Because I've had a life-long problem with my weight and a desire to be as fit as possible, I decided that I wanted to become a certified personal trainer to learn how to take care of myself and others. After researching the subject, I decided to use the NASM or National Academy of Sports Medicine, one of the hardest certifications to get. It is also one of the most comprehensive ones. But, due to my age and not looking the part, finding a job as a trainer was difficult.

A few years ago, I was invited to a Mary Morrissey even called Dream Building Live. This 3-day event took us through the first steps of building a life you'd love living. One of the options we were offered was to help other's do this. Well, I jumped at the chance. I had dreamed of becoming a motivational public speaker for a long time; I knew I had a message and the ability to speak in front of large groups of people, I just didn't know how to get started. Well, they offered me the plan on how to do this and I jumped in! After a few months of online training and a week of highly intensive live training event, I was ready.

As part of the training, we had to go through the signature "Dream Building" program where we design our own life. This process led me to define who I could help the most. That turned out to be people who are looking at retirement and are not sure what to do. It used to be, when someone retired, they would move to a retirement community, or move in with the "kids" and wait. I knew that when my generation, the baby boomers, retired, they will have at least 20 more years, or more likely 30-40 years to do things. Plus, their health is much better than their parents or grandparents. Sitting around and waiting is no longer a desirable option, but what to do? That's where retirement life planning comes in! It may be traveling the world, playing tennis and golf, or volunteering, together we can make your retirement a dream you never thought possible!

I think plain water is best. Mine is filtered because our water system is old. I don't think you really need any of the "fancy" waters, and unless your public works says to, you don't need bottled water at all.

Stay warm 😜. I also have it too. One of the things I read was taking a large dose of niacin (B3), with your doctor's approval. This dilates your blood vessels, allowing more blood in them. This can also cause a "Niacin Flush" causing the skin to turn red, but it's harmless. Niacin is a water-soluble vitamin, so your body doesn't store it. I've found gloves to be pretty useless when it's cold. Mittens are much better as the fingers stay warmer because they're together instead of separate. I'll wear gloves down to about 40°F, below that I need mittens to keep my hands healthy. Look into compression socks of gloves, as that can help too.

It is possible that the hip flexors are causing lower back pain. What I've discovered is that a weak core is the number one cause of lower back pain. And remember, your core starts just below your chest and goes down to the knees, and both front and back (sides too).
