I have been an Occupational Therapist for over 37 years treating patients in various settings: psychiatric; rehabilitation; acute and long term care; home care and hospice. For the past 25 years, I have added complementary modalities to my repertoire. With additional training in hypnotherapy; Healing Touch [a certified practitioner for over 20 years]; aromatherapy; and NLP [Neurolinguistic Programming].
I reside on 10 serene acres in a log home which I helped to build in 1987 with my former husband. He died suddenly in 1993. To cope with this major life changing event and be able to move through the grieving process more easily, I chose to become trained in Reiki, Healing Touch and many other subtle energy medicine modalities. I found them to be very beneficial in healing at all levels. In 1996, I opened my property, Serendipity Meadows, for my private practice which was initially part time because I also worked full-time as an OT. In 2014, I officially left working full-time in traditional medicine to work solely in my private practice.
Until the COVID 19 pandemic, I also ran classes, workshops, and retreats here with the primary focus being on self empowerment. People from all cultures and backgrounds are welcome at Serendipity Meadows where they can easily connect with like minded people.
To adapt to the COVID challenges, I also offer online sessions through Zoom and the telephone.
I believe in providing heart centered treatment for all of my clients. I regard my interaction with them as a joint partnership providing enhanced empowerment for the client. Having experienced significant life challenges of feeling stuck at times and dealing with loss, I understand how frustrating and hopeless life can appear to be. I provide my clients with insight, skills, and a stronger sense of self to move forward into a life of unlimited possibilities and desired outcomes.
On the first visit, a comprehensive assessment is done with questions focusing on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of the person's life. The client is asked to provide information regarding the primary issues they are concerned about and what they hope to achieve through therapy.
Modalities are suggested which would be helpful in achieving the client's desired outcome. The client's preferences are considered and treatment begins during that visit.
My former husband's sudden death at age 45 inspired me to begin the holistic aspect of my training to become a healer. Along my path, I was fortunate to have encountered at least five different mentors whose personalities, styles of healing, and heart centered auras inspired me to blend those aspects into my role as a healer.
I recognize that I signed on to this earthly life to be of service to others and to assist with their healing so they may move forward into healthy, balanced lives.
