Hi! My Name is Debra.
With a strong desire to help others, I started to pursue the nursing field. However, my path led me into Special Education, where I earned my Masters Degree and taught for over 18 years, including eight in Germany, for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools. I then spent several years as a Vocational Evaluator in Florida, and later returned to Hanford, where I supervised group homes for Developmentally Disabled Adults for seven years.
However, since I missed my medical roots (and had always been told I had "good hands"), I decided to pursue a career as a Massage Therapist. After completing my initial training at Heavenly Touch Massage Massage Therapy Clinic and Learning Center, I went on to fulfill the additional requirements for state certification with CAMTC. Upon completion of my certification, I attended additional training from such instructors as Eric Dalton, David Morin, David Kent, Tina Allen, Aaron Mattes, and many others, specializing in the area of Medical Massage. I received training with John Barnes in myofascial release, in Sedona, Arizona. In the past several years I have also been becoming skilled in Craniosacral Therapy, and soon plan to take courses in lymphatic balancing; to better care for cancer and post surgery patients.
I currently offer Swedish (relaxation) and deep tissue massage, including myofascial release, trigger point, and craniosacral therapy. I am certified in medical massage, to provide relief from conditions such as Headaches, Whiplash, TMJ (jaw pain), Frozen Shoulder/ Rotator Cuff Syndrome, Tennis/Golfer's Elbow, and hand and wrist pain such as in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Restricted Breathing, and Postural Problems, and much more. I've also been trained in Prenatal/Pregnancy Massage, as well as Pediatric Massage-- with a specialty in Autism/ADHD.
In addition, I have a general knowledge of Aroma Therapy with doTERRA's essential oils and have been trained in their 'AromaTouch Technique', which is a clinical approach to essential oil application. This special treatment works to restore homeostasis (or balance in your body), by addressing the four areas that compromise it in our daily lives: stress, toxicity, inflammation, and nervous system imbalance. It involves the application of eight essential oils (two which address each of the four areas listed above), and clients who've tried it have said it's a very soothing and wonderful experience.
I come from a large family (4 brothers). In my free time, I enjoy participating in local community theater and church choir, watching old movies or being in the outdoors; preferably the mountains or ocean. I love to travel and experience new cultures. Spiritually, I have a strong belief in God, and in His guidance in all that I do. I believe that this is reflected in my work, and enables me to have the success that I do. I feel very blessed to be in this line of work. I love making others feel better and could not ask for a greater joy in life!
