Dorsett Edmunds, M. A., P.T. is a physical therapist at University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona for over 20 years. Prior to that she worked at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She obtained a B.A. from Vassar College, an M.A. in Teaching from Columbia University, and her physical therapy degree from Hahnemann College, Philadelphia, PA in 1984. She has specialized in pediatrics, orthopedics, and pain management. Since 1989 she has studied Zero Balancing with Fritz Smith, M.D., the originator of this unique manual technique. She has assisted Dr. Smith in classes in Mexico and the United States since 1996, and was certified to teach Zero Balancing in 1996. In addition to integrating this technique into her physical therapy practice in Tucson, she has instructed introductory and advanced Zero Balancing classes to massage therapists, physical and occupational therapists, M.D.s, D.O.s, R.N.s, and other health professionals for the last twenty years, primarily in the southwest and in Canada. Dorsett has sponsored workshops for Dr. Smith to teach the medical students and M.D.s associated with the Dr. Andrew Weil Integrative Medicine Program at the University of Arizona. In addition, she has demonstrated and given Zero Balancing lectures to the Integrative Medicine doctors twice a year for the last six years. Dorsett volunteers with a refugee clinic in Tucson giving ZB to refugees and asylees who have come from other countries suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.
