About meI am a Speech Language Pathologist with special training in the Buteyko Breathing Method, which treats dysfunctional breathing, such as asthma. I am passionate about helping people correct their breathing problems since they often cause severe medical problems, such as cardiac disorders, alzheimers, dementia, and stroke. Facial development is impacted by breathing in infancy and early childhood and how the face grows can impact how one breathes as an adult. Factors affecting facial development include restricted lingual frenulum, which restricts jaw growth and doesn’t allow the tongue to sit in the correct place in the mouth, allowing the palate to become high and narrow. These facial growth differences lead to a restricted airway. My goal is to identify breathing problems as early as possible so the individual is able to live a full and healthy life and to help those with dysfunctional breathing at any age improve their quality of life. I am also a Certified Orofacial Myologist. This training allows me to identify and treat oral myofunctional disorders that may be causing or contributing to the breathing problems.
