I help people who feel frustrated that they can’t gain control over their wellbeing and their day-to-day lives. I help people who struggle to manage their time, their health, their relationships with food, their stress, their confidence. I help people build respect for their bodies and cultivate more body intuition, acknowledging what their bodies need at a given time instead of relying on external, prescriptive rules on what to eat, how to move, how to be present, etc.
In this world where we’re inundated with information, where there are distractions everywhere, where our work demands follow us everywhere we go, where our phones demand so much attention, I help people create more ease in their lives. I help them cultivate habits so they can feel grounded in them AND have the freedom to do all the things they actually want to be doing, instead of being slaves to tech/work/family/etc. I help people create the life they want to be living!
My mission is to empower, encourage, and guide health-seeking individuals to implement essential habits for a thriving body, mind, and spirit.
The Happy Healthy Habits program is founded in modern science, Ayurveda, and behavior change strategy. Members gain understanding of core methodology through clear content and step-by-step instruction. They implement these habits through intentional and reflective practice, collaborative group dynamics, and open-minded self-inquiry.
Participants experience increased energy on a daily basis, gain greater confidence, cultivate a better relationship with food, and become less stressed and more joyful in their day-to-day lives. They learn to trust their intuition and implement the Happy, Healthy Habits they need to thrive!
I've always been fascinated with behavior change research, and I knew I wanted to use it to help people create tangible change in their lives.
I saw that there was this disconnect between behaviors I wanted to be doing and actually doing them. And the more I talked to people about this, the more I realized that almost everyone was in the same boat.
In fact, as I talked to people about their own struggles in wellness, I found that most people were frustrated with themselves and their efforts in health. I found that most people wanted to take control of their own wellness and lifestyle, that they had these grand visions for themselves, but that ultimately they would “fall off the wagon” and give up until motivation kicked them back into gear some time later, only to have the same thing happen again.
I also found that this struggle with health was closely tied with people’s, and especially women’s, relationship with food, their bodies, and their self-worth.
While I was health conscious throughout my childhood and beyond, my concept of health was wrapped up in my body image, which negatively impacted my relationship with food, resulting in emotional eating, restriction, and binge eating through my high school and college years. I had thought it was only me, but I realized that almost every woman I talked to had a version of her own food struggle story.
It was while I was studying this intersection of health behaviors, body image, and food during my MPH at the University of Michigan that I interned for a company called Yogahealer, who had an online group program called Body Thrive that helped its participants incorporate health habits to live a better life. As part of that internship, I got to be in that program, and it completely changed my life. It beautifully blended cutting-edge behavioral science research with essential health habits from the holistic science of Ayurveda, which also provided a path to a more sustainable and intuitive relationship with food and an appreciation for my body. I was totally hooked. This is what I had been wanting to help people do! And now I had experienced the life-changing shift that could happen when we change our habits.
So I got certified as a Yoga Health Coach and now have my own online group program called Happy Healthy Habits, which is based on that original Body Thrive course. The rest is history!
My clients describe their time in my Happy Healthy Habits program as life-changing. They all identify that they came in not even realizing how much of a difference it would make in their health, in their experience of their day-to-day lives, and in their overall happiness.
Participants experience increased energy on a daily basis, gain greater confidence, cultivate a better relationship with food, and become less stressed and more joyful on a day-to-day basis. They learn to trust their intuition and implement the Happy, Healthy Habits they need to thrive!
If you want to get off the hamster wheel of being 'on' or 'off' the wagon when it comes to your health and your wellbeing in your day-to-day life, you want to work with a habit change coach!
I don't give my clients a meal plan or an exercise regimen and tell them to 'get after it!' Instead, I work with my clients to empower them to take their health and wellness into their own hands. I help them implement essential health habits and automate them so they don't have to think so much about their health all the time in order to feel the way they want to feel.
Health shouldn't be the only thing we focus on in our lives! Health is incredibly important, but so are all the other beautiful aspects of our life experience. I help my clients get to a place where they feel amazing in their bodies and in themselves so they can follow their purpose and passion, and so they can live the lives they want to live!
Habit Change Coaching isn't for you if you want a quick fix to a health problem that will likely come back. It's for you if you want to get to the root of your health challenges and build habits to help you thrive in your body, mind, and spirit throughout the rest of your life.
