I was seeing another acupuncturist for a year and did not receive the same results. If you're contemplating trying acupuncture, Imani is the best solution you'll find. Her technique is extremely gentle, yet effective. She is one of the rare healers this world needs.
Over the past 4 years I have come to depend on her in tough times or just unsettled times, when my energy did not seem quite right, and in all cases she manages to shift me into a more healthy place. She's my (and my family's) go-to health care provider.
She has both the intuitive and scientific acumen to identify imbalances with my body. What sets Imani apart from other acupuncturists is her deep knowledge of Reiki. I have been with her for 3 years and have always noticed rapid transformational change.

About me

Imani is a Licensed Acupuncturist by New York State and owner of Acupuncture Therapy Studio, PC. She graduated with honors from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego with a Master's of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine and Herbology. During the 4 year dual Master’s program she received over 3,000 hours in clinical training and internships. Throughout this rigorous training she learned to practice Chinese acupuncture with an emphasis on 5-element balancing while developing a firm foundation in Western Medicine and a thorough understanding of Traditional Asian Theory. She is a Diplomat in Oriental Medicine commissioned by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, meeting national standards for safe and competent practice as an Acupuncturist and Herbalist.

Following a brief 8 year career in environmental consulting with a double Baccalaureate degree in Environmental Science and Chemistry, graduating with honors from The University of Tampa in 2001, she shifted her focus from the futility of healing the earth to the fulfillment of healing the earth’s inhabitants. Her path in life opened doors to realize her skills as an Intuitive Healer, and the urgency in applying those skills not only to herself, but to those drawn to her. Since her licensure in 2012 she has administered over 10,000 effective and life changing treatments including focus on chronic and acute pain management, stress reduction, emotional balance, mood disorders, mental/spiritual health, digestive ailments, fatigue/sleep issues, respiratory illness, fertility difficulties, pre/post natal support, menopausal symptoms, chemotherapy side effects, and more. She has developed long lasting, trustful and rewarding partnerships with her patients that seek her individualized comprehensive treatments, healing hands and lighthearted humor as a part of their regular health management regimen.

Imani has spent the past 6 years honing her skills into a gentle yet effective therapeutic technique she uses to treat both the mind and the body. Acupuncture is not the only medium of healing that she incorporates into her treatments. She has a Level II Reiki attunement and is pursuing Reiki Master training. In addition she practices Tui Na hand and structural techniques for musculoskeletal disorders. Other traditional modalities such as fire cupping, moxibustion therapy, gua sha and electric stimulation are also included under her care.

Imani is a native New Yorker born and raised in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn in her first 18 years of life. She then lived in Florida for 6 years, California for 9 years, and spent 2 years cruising the Caribbean to feed her love of the ocean and sun. As the wind blew her back to New York, she decided to root her life close to family and enter into motherhood, although she still has an insatiable wanderlust and aspires for world travel. She is also a lifelong yoga student, and has a genetic musical inclination choosing classical and jazz flute as her creative outlet for over 20 years. She has been fascinated by the metaphysical world, crystal energy, shamanism, journeying and meditation since childhood, and has now dedicated her life to share the gift of healing that resides in all of us.

She exudes a peacefulness that enters into the treatment. The physical and mental are never separated. Imani's kindness and sense of humor are as healing as the acupuncture and cupping treatments. I have always felt cared for as a person and not just a patient.
She treats with such kindness, humanity and thoughtfulness, with a compassion that is rare in the healthcare industry. I've had less doctors appointments and my colds are shorter, thanks to Imani. She is professional and empathetic to all her patient's needs and ails.
She was beyond supportive, patient and comforting, helping me through many struggles, and was even able to treat me with my intense fear of needles. I trust her completely and feel lucky to have had her help through such monumental moments in my life.
