I highly recommend Jess as your life and health coach. In our work and journey (its not a diet it's a life change - lesson you will learn) together, she provided exceptional knowledge and tips as to slowly make changes to routines and habits. It wasn't such a shock to the system. She offered and provided concrete tools and advise to help guide me through successful growth, change and resilience. These lessons stayed with me and have truly been a life rewarding experience. Her techniques allow your strengths to be realized, your journey to be appreciated and a greater sense of purpose to be obtained. I am a more confident and fulfilled individual today as a result of Jess's coaching. Thank you Jess!
My experience with Jessica was amazing. She introduced me to a ton of new ideas, methods, lifestyle choices, and she did so with a patient but encouraging method. When I had a failure she was there to remind me to get back on track and reset. She celebrated my highs and was present for my lows, always encouraging and always there to offer information and help! I highly suggest giving her a try if you are looking for a life style change in regards to your overall health!!!
I started working with Jess because though I had a great exercise routine, I was still struggling with my nutrition as well as experiencing high levels of anxiety and stress. Jessica, was the first coach that I felt truly listened to my concerns and tailored an approach that would fit my specific needs as well help ensure that the plan I was following was easy to incorporate into my daily routine. Each week she would add one minor tweak to my plan, whether that be to add a salad with a meal, or collagen or even beyond nutrition, do one thing that brings me joy and eventually these minor adjustments turned into a lifestyle change, which has now led to a better quality of life and allowed me the opportunity to show up and be my best self for my family and at work. I am down 12 lbs, I have sustained energy, I have great focus (no more foggy brain), I've learned to set healthy boundaries and not feel guilty about doing whats best for me, and have quality sleep. To say that Jess ignited a flame in me is an understatement. She is an excellent health coach with a true passion for helping others and empowers you to tap into your motivation and inspire action through inspiration. Thank you for all you've given back to me, Jess!

About me

To say that I am obsessed with all things health is an understatement and probably . Up until recently, I never realized how deep my passion was and where it would lead me. That's life though, right? Full of surprises. Who would have thought that my daily green juice, starting in my twenties would lead me many years later to become a coach. Haha! Okay, there were definitely some other things that led to it too.

Looking back, I can say that my journey started right out of high school when I began experiencing weight fluctuation and anxiety. You know, that one thing that people used to feel embarrassed to talk about? My doctor immediately put me on an antidepressant and that was the end of the conversation. After trial and error, I started to realize that this can’t be good for my body long term so I set out to learn more about what I was experiencing and how I could correct it myself. Not long after, another doctor said I had slightly elevated cholesterol levels in my mid-twenties and wanted to put me on medication because it was most likely hereditary. Um, excuse me? Are you going to talk to me about diet and lifestyle changes first or just because some family members have issues, I’m doomed? Then of course with adulthood comes chronic stress which wreaks havoc and everyone seems to just allow it to become the norm of everyday life.

Fast forward to present day, after years of research, slowly changing my lifestyle, mindset and habits on my own, I started to realize that my anxiety and depression was correcting itself, I was losing weight and I felt better than ever. Next thing you know, I was obsessively researching more on health and our food industry. I realized that helping people to understand their bodies and to educate on the areas where we have been misguided and deceived by these food and drug industries for years was becoming an obsession, which recently turned into a passionate career.

We are living in a time now where we are taking back our health. Researchers are finally speaking up and admitting that a lot of what we have been told to do in the past wasn't correct. That the way of life and how we were told to eat isn't working. It's okay to speak up for yourself, to learn more about your body. It's time to work on un-learning those things we have been wired to believe.

We should never walk this journey alone and feel like there’s isn’t an answer. There is so much to learn and we deserve to live a healthy life.

I am an open book and want my clients to feel 100% comfortable talking to me.

My Philosophy of Care

Take baby steps! We are not perfect and aren't meant to be. The more we learn and grow and change our ways, the more our habits start to change and develop in a strong and steady way. In the beginning of my health journey I would do something as small as adding a small veggie to each meal or gradually swapping products. It's human nature to overwhelm ourselves in the beginning.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

Just a natural and laid back conversation. I want each client to feel completely comfortable. This is our chance to get to know each other and see if I'm a good fit to help you work toward your goals.

My Inspiration

I guess I've always had curiosity. I grew up in your typical mashed potatoes with a side of mashed potatoes family and as we got older, I started to see my family members crumble from chronic health conditions. I stumbled across Mark Hyman's podcast a couple of years ago and it all just made so much sense and I never looked back or questioned what it was I was meant to do in life again.

There are several practices you can work on to help guide you through this but really digging deep into what is triggering this will eventually be necessary. In the meantime, try researching on something called Mental Rehersal. There are different articles on this from different angles but the overall concept is to practice visualizing scenarios, both good and bad. How do you see yourself acting in those scenarios? How do you want to act,be, feel in those scenarios? Almost like you are mentally practicing in advance. I had a client practice for awhile. She had anxiety over making phone calls to book appointments or to run certain errands. She was worried that she would say or do the wrong thing. I had her practice a positive and negative scenario for both. If it wasn't going in the direction she thought it would, how would she handle it? Make a joke perhaps? She really felt this to be a useful tool in the beginning.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome can be a result of a few things but it mainly starts with your gut health. If our microbiome is not healthy than all other areas of our body are going to be effected. Here is an example. Did you know that over 80% of your seratonin (those feel good receptors) are actually produced in your gut? So what happens it if we aren't feeding the gut the things it needs/wants, it's going to sound an alarm to your brain and give off the impression that you are not happy basically. Therefore causing things like anxiety, depression, irritable bowel being a result as well. There is of course a lot more science and detail behind this but in a nutshell, this is most likely what is going on. I would recommend really digging into the meals you eat. Do you eat a lot of sugar/processed food? Gluten has a very strong influence on a lot of how your body reacts. It can cause mood disorders even. So start there. Maybe journal for awhile each day and when moments tend to trigger you. I used to suffer from this. Every time I would get nervous, stressed, I would be in the bathroom. It wasn't until I started to actually feed my body more nutritious foods and learned to manage my stress, did this become a thing of the past. Feel free to let me know your thoughts or if anything comes up for you.

Most people find themselves going through these sort of emotions at at least one point in their life. We are living in a world where so much is at our finger tips and not always in a good way. We have social media which allows us to compare ourselves to others more or view others stories and "think" that is what we want. I think that one thing that is really important to do is make a list of what truly makes YOU happy? Is that happiness speaking from your heart or this the perception of others? We have all been raised to view things in a certain light but sometimes that light gets brighter or dimmer as we grow older and create a path for ourselves. It's important to start to unpack those feelings or thoughts and separate what views, opinions, feelings have been embedded in us or those that are really ours. I have been going through some reflection myself lately and this perception of what I think happiness should be but in reality that vision is actually blocking my ability to live in the moment and allow each day to unfold. I am constantly focusing on the destination, rather then the journey. Does that make sense? I know I started rambling. May I make a suggestion for a podcast I recently listened to? It's call Made for Living Well, Episode #227 "This Simple Mindset Shift Changed My Health".......Feel free to let me know what your thoughts are if you do end up listening.
