Joe graduated from PMTI in 2002. His interest in the body began from a study of a style of Jujitsu that incorporated a Japanese restoration therapy for rank advancement. This exploration, noticing the injuries of his artistic peers and his own debilitating repetitive overuse injuries during his undergrad studies in Music Performance, served as major guiding influences to seek out effective and clinically relevant massage therapy interventions.
Focused on providing pain relief, Joe's solid assessment skills are grounded in his Orthopedic Massage training (certified in 2003 with Whitney Lowe). Joe went on to study and certify in Myofascial Release Massage (a Hellerwork approach) from Howard Rontal. He has studied and certified in Lypossage (a combination of myofascial massage, lymphatic work, deep tissue and complex physical therapy) from its founder Charles Wiltsie III. He then certified in Medical Massage and since 2011 has been pursuing a certification in Precision Neuromuscular Therapy from Doug Nelson. Constantly improving techniques and furthering education in order to offer more effective, customized treatment are his passions.
