Joellie Gonseth has a clear and powerful vision to bring manual and mind-body therapies to help heal trauma in those suffering from trauma and PTSD. Her vast knowledge emerges from her own personal experiences, her passion as a health and body-mind advocate, and advanced training in complementary and alternative practices and muscle and manual body work therapies. Having received formal training in Energy Kinesiology through Bruce Dewe, MD, she also has trained with other exceptional Kinesiology pioneers such as Charles Krebs, PhD and John Thie, DC, among others. A medical massage therapist for almost 30 years, she combines these trainings with her many certification trainings such as Complete Decongestive Therapy (which includes Manual Lymphatic Drainage from the Norton Institute) for a truly unique and effective approach to somatic bodywork. Certified as a Touch for Health Kinesiology instructor in 1995, Joellie has training and professional experience in many energy-based systems such as the PKP Program, Edu-K, Brain Gym, and EFT, among others.
Joellie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Liberty University earning her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Crisis Counseling. Her goal is to help all those who have experienced trauma, but she has a particular focus on veterans, having had family members who were diagnosed with PTSD due to their military service. An angel mom, her goal is to bring the innovative treatment protocols she has studied and developed to all who have suffered any degree of trauma and who are looking for somatic therapies to move through those experiences.
After graduating from the highly acclaimed Florida School of Massage in Gainesville in 1992, she has maintained a very successful medical massage practice in Ocala, Florida, while expanding her training and unique style. Some of her work experiences include working with the terminally ill for Hospice of Marion County and she went on to become a certified Massage for Cancer instructor. As a teacher for the Marion County School System, she developed the curriculum for Oriental Theory, Neuromuscular, and deep tissue therapies while teaching Anatomy, Physiology, and Kinesiology. She became an ESE teacher (Exceptional Student Education) and taught Autistic students at the high school level, grades 9-12 and was nominated Rookie Teacher of the Year. Joellie now teaches continuing education for massage therapists and is certified through the State of Florida and NCBTMB. She offers classes in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Complimentary Therapies for PTSD and Trauma, and Functional Muscle Assessment and Correction, among others.
Joellie's primary focus is Kinesiology which works exceptionally well with all other modalities. Although it deals primarily with the biomechanics of the body, it also opens the interconnectedness of all systems of the body for exploration. Muscular deficiencies can influence all body systems from the psycho-emotional to digestive and can be a tremendous source of dis-ease and stress on the life force and energy resources. Simply doing the right biomechanical moves will not change a system that is unable to sustain correction; addressing the right system in the right order is paramount to getting results.
Once you understand how kinesiology works with a properly trained practitioner, each session is an exciting exploration of discovery as each body is different and its history has evolved through the many layers of its experiences. Much like a computer programmer looking for dysfunctions in a particular program, kinesiology can address a need from any direction. There is no doubt that that properly used kinesiology systems by a trained professional are an ESSENTIAL component in re-education and rehabilitation. Joellie's experience and knowledge in health and healing has provided invaluable help to thousands of her clients over the past 25 years. By integrating Eastern and Western therapies, she supports others in overcoming health and mind-body obstacles.

I have been involved in the holistic health and wellness field for almost 30 years, starting first as a massage therapist, then as a teacher and professional kinesiology practitioner. I opened the Kinesiology Institute of Florida (MM12538) and became a wellness professional because I was not able to get the help I needed and wanted from traditional allopathic care. I knew there was more to health than drugs and surgery.
My clients describe my massage therapy as highly trained and skillful. My kinesiology clients are awed by what they learn during a "balance" session and if I am using kinesiology techniques to work with the musculature, they are amazed when trigger points and pain dissolve away with very little effort.
Kinesiology sessions or “balances” are gentle and nurturing and through functional muscle assessment we can communicate with your body to determine the cause of your body’s disharmony. When coupled with healing corrections, this can have a profound and permanent shift in consciousness and well-being.
Once we have established the outcome, goal or intention you would like to achieve, an indicator muscle is used to provide feedback on the body’s response to different stressors, thoughts, emotions, attitudes and other stimuli. Your subconscious mind then provides feedback as to your best balancing technique, remedy or support you require to bring you back into balance and achieve your desired outcome, goal or intention.
