Providing massage as hospice volunteer to those at end-of-life, Karla realized that many who were ill benefited most from the lightest touch
Karla Moffet received her Massage Therapy Certification in 2001 from AKS Massage School, and for 15 years she has used touch to guide clients on their journey to health and well-being.
Service to others is a guiding principle in her work. So, after 9/11, Karla and other volunteers provided seated massage to the rescue workers at the Pentagon. Of the experience, Karla says, “It was so powerful. Confusion and grief were everywhere, but the determination to stay strong united us. The departing emergency teams, walking among their replacements, received applause – and tears – from all those present.”
Providing massage as a hospice volunteer to those at end-of-life, Karla realized that many who were ill benefitted most from the lightest touch. Her search for a gentle touch therapy that would benefit all led her to Reiki.
In 2004, Karla completed a 12 month Reiki Master Certification program that also gave her the credentials to teach Reiki. Over the years, many clients, young and old, both ill and in good health, have benefitted from Karla’s Reiki practice.
Yet, still, something was missing. Longing to find a way to unify her physical manipulation as a massage therapist and her Reiki energy work, Karla was very excited to discovered Zero Balancing. Guided by a Zero Balancing mentor, Karla spent 7 years in training – receiving her Zero Balancing Certification in May, 2013.
In addition to her private practice, Karla has volunteered her time and her Reiki skills at Life with Cancer, a cancer patient support group, as an on-call practitioner for patients at end-of-life, and with several local hospice organizations.
Karla welcomes all to her private Reiki and Zero Balancing practice in Vienna, Virginia, where she supports clients as they move towards a well-balanced and less stressful life.
