Private Awareness Through Movement Lesson
In private Awareness Though Movement lessons, I use verbal instruction to guide you though a personalized movement process that explore functions such as reaching, turning, breathing, getting up and down, or walking. Easier movement means greater comfort performing everyday activities at home or work, and greater skill in athletic and artistic pursuits. You do the lessons lying on the floor on a comfortable blanket or pad, sitting on a chair or on the floor, standing, in various orientations. You will need a computer and internet to connect to zoom, where I can observe you and guide you virtually.

Group Zoom Awareness Through Movement Class
Group Zoom Awareness Through Movement classes are taught by a variety of practitioners. We use verbal directions that will engage you in micro-movement sequences that address a range of functions necessary for the effective and efficient use of one's self. There are thousands of lessons done in a variety of positions. You will need a computer and internet connection. These group on line classes are free of charge. Mondays & Wednesdays at 1 - 2PM PT, and Saturdays at 10AM PT. For a monthly donation, you receive access to the class recordings. About me

I have chronic pain. It started with a frozen shoulder that was very painful and lasted for over 3 years. During my rehab I was compensating in a way that caused more neck and jaw pain. I tried chiropractors, acupuncture, physical therapy and finally decided to go to another doctor in the spine clinic, for a 2nd opinion. That doctor told me, “I think you could benefit from doing the Feldenkrais Method.”

That was 10 years ago, and now I am a Feldenkrais practitioner. These classes are a wonderful complement to any medical treatment or exercise program. Feldenkrais is more than just movement. For me, it is a lifelong practice. I hope you try these intriguing, gentle, supportive classes to learn more about the body-mind connection and enhance your well being.

I teach group classes with a non-profit organization S3NSE. A variety of practitioners teach with S3NSE, and currently the on line classes are free of charge.
Monday's & Wednesday's at 1 - 2pm Pacific Time

I offer private sessions. You may benefit from individual, hands on sessions to experience how lightly you can be touched, be supported, and learn how to integrate these sensations into functional movement patterns. I am re-mapping the body and giving the person a different experience of themselves. My studio is located in Cupertino, CA or I can work personally with you on zoom.

My Philosophy of Care

How do you move through life? I create a judgement free space, a clear channel, for you to experience freedom of movement. Your experience matters as much as mine. Feldenkrais is a kind method. We frequently pause to refresh our attention, to reflect, and absorb changes.

What does connection feel like in your body? Moving forward, reaching, breathing, open, playful. I use my hands and give verbal instructions to help you improve your connection, to reclaim yourself.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

1st, I want to make the client comfortable. What are the boundaries of comfort? I'm holding your feet. Does that make you feel comfortable or uneasy? Are there any areas you don't want me to touch? Are there any areas you want me to touch? and, you can change your mind at any time.

2nd, I use my observation skills. I ask different questions, with my hands, and listen to how you like to move. Where is something stuck and how can we get it flowing again? It's like a puzzle. Going slowly, gently.

My Inspiration

My mother was a midwife in China in the 1920's. She was ahead of her time. She lived in good health to age 99. It inspires me to pass on my knowledge to help others. The Feldenkrais Method is not well known, it's like the best kept secret. It may not be for everyone, but it is reliable and it works.

The Method was developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984). Feldenkrais practitioners undertake training over 4 years, which is accredited by the FGNA. www.feldenkrais.com

Your body amplifies emotions and your organization. How you organize yourself reflects what you feel. Imagine anger or fear, and how your body changes organization. Private Feldenkrais sessions create a safe, positive, integrated experience of self, using gentle touch and movement. It feels amazing to be touched this way. I hope that I can facilitate your ability to calm down, unblock areas of the body, and make it ok to sense pleasure and love yourself.
