Micah Ellis, L.Ac. is a California Board licensed acupuncturist, clinical herbalist, 7th Generation Royal Style Tui Na Practitioner and a member of the California State Oriental Medical Association (CSOMA). She received her Masters of Science degree from The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
In 2015, Micah spent time in China where she received training in Dermatology and Orthopedics at the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. While there she saw firsthand how the integration of Classical Chinese medicine and Western medicine can co-exist with one another to achieve the most efficient results.
As the body and environment are in constant change, we can easily be thrown off balance by stress, aging and environmental factors. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can help support us during this time when the body and mind resist the change. When in this state of resistance, one can experience anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic fatigue, digestion problems, pain and hormonal changes. By using Chinese medicine Micah can help re-orient the patient and return them to a more balanced, healthy state.
Micah also feels it is important to give back to her community and once a month you can find her volunteering for the HealthRIGHT 360 Program at the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic providing Auricular acupuncture to the homeless, uninsured and socio-economically disenfranchised community, including HIV/AIDS and substance abuse patients.
