knowledge in the nutrition and bariatric issues, her immediate reaction to my complaints, helped me to make sure that all my vitamin.
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis which was very progressive and within 6 years it had infected my entire colon. I was on multiple medications, which eventually had reverse effects and were no longer effective. During this time I was running a gym on weekends and was very interested in health. I was helping clients with weight loss and exercise routines while attending UMCP to attain a nutrition degree. My plan was to work with sports nutrition clients and help people with weight loss. My grandmother introduced me to a naturopathic MD physician and insisted on paying for services to hopefully avoid the impending surgery. I was introduced to holistic medicine at this time and went through many various treatments over a year period. This Doctor provided me an education I did not get in college. I have found there is much to be said about functional medicine and healthy lifestyles long term. Unfortunately, the disease was too far gone and I did need the 2-stage open J-Pouch surgery. This led me to working with multiple GI clients including bariatric surgery patients. I also work with certified trainers and do sports nutrition.
