Practitioner, Rolfing, Structural Integration
I have been a practitioner of Structural Integration, also known as Rolfing, since 2004. I chose to become a practitioner after receiving theRolf Method's series of 10 sessions and found that I not only felt lighter, more upright, and fluid, but also became aware of an openness in my spirit that allowed me to make changes in my life. I realized that creating space in the body did the same for the mind.
What is so rewarding in doing this work is to see these changes in others. From a physical standpoint I get to see the relief from chronic pain, the postural improvement, the new sense of balance. Also, and maybe more importantly, I get to see a happier person ready to launch a new perspective.
The story of one's life can be seen as part of a bigger story, the global story. As I step into the mystery of my own journey, can I contribute to the world's journey toward transformation? As I become more truly who I am, in body and spirit, the possibility of the world's step into integrity cannot help but be affected by it. This is an effect proven by science called "coherence" and "entrainment". As I become centered, calm, a coherence of signals sync the brain and the heart. Others around me will tend to become entrained to that state. Imagine millions of people striving to maintain this compassionate state of being. Would we reach a tipping point toward peace, connection, understanding? If we thought this might be possible, wouldn't we want to practice this art and give this gift?
