Hi, I'm Ellen! I am one-half of A Touch of Healing LLC and a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner. I graduated from college in the turbulent ‘60’s, earning a B.A. in psychology and dance; and went on to get an M.S. degree in Special Education. For the next 25 years I was a stay-at-home mom raising 7 children. In mid-life I enrolled at Georgia State University, and began a career as a registered nurse. As I worked in Oncology/Hematology and Infectious Disease (HIV/AIDS), I began to see that the patients needed support that my nursing responsibilities would not allow. I began to explore other healing methods, and fell in love with the gentle, non-invasive methods and holistic approach of the Healing Touch Program. I completed 5 rigorous levels of training and became certified in 2018. Now retired from hospital nursing, I find that I can expand my nursing experience beyond the physical body at A Touch of H ealing LLC.
Hi, I'm Thembi! I'm Ellen's daughter and the other half of A Touch of Healing LLC. I began my massage career in 2009 and I have become interested in fascia (connective tissue) restrictions and release through massage and Craniosacral Therapy. Massage and Craniosacral Therapy are at opposite ends of the pressure spectrum, but they both produce profound effects on musculoskeletal alignment and release of tension. You can book massage or Craniosacral Therapy by going to touchofhealingatl.com, and I look forward to working with you!
Our goal is to support the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of every client, regardless of age, sex, background, or physical condition. Through heart-centered intention and skill, we use Healing Touch, Craniosacral Therapy, and massage to re-establish the natural flow of energy.
For your first Healing Touch, Craniosacral Therapy and massage sessions, your medical history and treatment goals will be reviewed. For Healing Touch, there will also be discussion about family history and current emotional wellbeing. For massage, your pressure preference and areas you wish not to be massaged will be discussed. You will remain fully clothed for Healing Touch and Craniosacral Therapy. For massage, you will dress and undress privately will be properly covered during the massage.
Ellen: I was inspired to do Healing Touch after being exposed to indigenous healers from West Africa and America. I was moved by their philosophies, and wanted to learn a craft that embodied these ideas, especially after my experiences in hospital nursing.
Thembi: My background in Biological Anthropology introduced me to how the human body adapted to various environments. I later wanted to use my knowledge of human biology and anatomy to practically help people who suffer from pain and stress.
