I believe in the power of food and nutrition to transform the body, mind and soul. I am trained as a dietitian, but now I practice as a nutrition coach, guiding clients through manageable changes to build a sustainable nutrition and health mindset that lasts a lifetime.
Dietitians can get a bad rap for pushing salads, banning fat and salt, and sticking to outdated food guides. However, the reality is, our training in nutrition is unparalleled and grounded in science. I use my background in biochemistry, clinical nutrition and nutrition research to provide evidence-based recommendations, but approach nutrition with an open, holistic and non-judgmental mind. Most importantly, I help clients discover the meaning in self-care and the enjoyment in delicious, nourishing food.
My particular focus is nutrition for brain health and mental health. I help people struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional eating and binge eating. However, the health of our brain is intricately connected to the health of our gut, so I also work with clients suffering digestive issues, from GERD to IBS.
Whether you want to follow a vegan, paleo or keto diet, lose weight or just enjoy food more, I see myself as a guide to help you achieve YOUR health goals in the way that feels best to YOU.
I invite you to book a free consultation so we can chat, get to know each and figure out how I can help you create vibrant health for yourself.
I believe in a client-centered approach, putting your preferences, goals, and individual definition of health front and centre. Building lasting lifestyle changes takes time so, in my experience, clients do best working with me for between 3 and 6 months. I take a non-judgmental, body-positive, LGBT-friendly and culturally sensitive approach, and I view nourishing food as the greatest way to show our miraculous bodies care and love.
Prior to any first visit, I ask clients to fill out a comprehensive health history form. This ensures that we can hit the ground running in that appointment. In our first visit, I take time to get to know your food preferences, your health struggles, your current diet and lifestyle and your individual needs. Based on this, we'll work together to establish a few goals moving forward. At follow-up visits, we'll review your goals and build on these in a manageable, step-by-step way.
My work is inspired by my first-hand experience of the transformative power of food. Before I was a nutrition coach, I was a professional musician, but struggled with crippling anxiety that threatened to end my career. I tried every imaginable way of addressing the anxiety, but it wasn't until I changed my diet that I was able to put the problem behind me. I became so fascinated by the impact of nutrition on the brain and on mental health that I decided to switch careers and become a dietitian!
