Learn More About Alexandra CS Diamond

About me

Hi, I'm Alexandra! I am a licensed massage therapist (LMT) in the states of Maine and Oregon, a certified CranioSacral therapist and TA for the Upledger Institute. I began my lifelong study of the mindbody through my work as a Strasberg Method actress, drawn to the craft by a desire to seek greater human truths and share them through the expression of experience.

As a massage and CranioSacral therapist, I aim to restore clients’ mindbody awareness, bringing their whole self into balance. I employ Swedish techniques, myofascial release, deep tissue and trigger point therapy, neuromuscular therapy, shiatsu and passive stretches as well as CranioSacral and Somatoemotional Release techniques to each session. Focusing on incremental gains toward your long term wellness goals!

My Philosophy of Care

We rarely get to be totally embodied. We may work out, eat well, stretch and flex, but we miss out on the mindbody connection by intellectualizing it all. Even though I love it, meditation is not for everyone. Bodywork and CranioSacral Therapy allow the mind to quiet and integrate with the body, they allow the cells to talk. Due to the nature of touch, they also tap into layers of the human element we can miss out on if we are trying to heal ourselves in a vacuum.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

"magical"
"best massage therapist ever!"
"a healer and a magician"

My Inspiration

It may not be for you, but we can always ask your inner physician.

Hi Susan! In my humble opinion, no. Although I am a believer in the effective treatment of chiropractic care, I have also found personally and through my clients' experiences, that a chronic issue will require the reeducation of the tissues around the area. Complementing chiropractic with massage, acupressure, CST, or PT will create lasting changes to the neck. As we age, work a desk, even after what seems like a minor accident, the body becomes reliant on compensations which eventually can cause pain or more trauma. Reeducating the tissue to function with the newly aligned bone and connective structures will ensure that old habits don't pull the body back into a compensation pattern. Also, there are gentler, less invasive ways than chiropractic is that's also a concern (CST, for one). Hope that was helpful and happy to continue the discussion!

Hi Mychal! What are you looking to learn about breast cancer treatment? Naturopathic and functional medicine doctors are great resources for alternative treatments. Also, massage, Reiki, CST, and acupuncture can be effective complementary therapies to both traditional and alternative cancer treatment. Each person is a unique case and therefore treatment should be planned as such. Hopefully this gives you a starting point!

Hi Jasmine, It can! And Margaret's article is great! The Upledger Institute has been studying how CranioSacral Therapy can effect Autistic folks (or folks with Autism Spectrum Disorder— saving a discussion on identity-first language for another time) for many years now and has proven it an effective treatment for relaxing the individual and allowing them a feeling of greater ease with the world around them. CranioSacral Therapy directly releases restrictions in the structures of the head and spine, nourishing the central nervous system. It's also non-invasive and can be practiced in small increments at the leisure and comfort of the client.
