Alexis is able to provide practices that are accessible, safe, welcoming and adaptable to practitioners of any ability level. Sessions focus on breathwork, meditation and proper postural alignment. The goal is to support clients with increasing their flexibility, heart rate variability, resilience, mental clarity and physical well-being, while also reducing stiffness, chronic pain, mental fatigue, and symptoms of trauma and chronic stress. If you’re an athlete, military service member, business professional or first responder looking to decrease your recovery time, increase your gym gains and improve your performance at work, yoga and meditation with Alexis can help!
I believe anyone can practice yoga and meditation. All sessions are based in trauma-sensitive, evidence-based, adaptable and inclusive practices, designed to support growth and integration of the client's experiences. All clients are treated with respect and all sessions are provided with the heartfelt intention to offer meaningful support. Each student is the guru in their own life; I'm simply a guide that helps them access their inner knowing.
During our initial session, you'll complete an intake form that will allow me to get to know you and your goals for our sessions together. We'll discuss any conditions that need to be taken into consideration during our time together and lay the ground rules for our sessions (i.e. hands-on assists, music preferences, smell preferences, languaging, etc.). We will end with a short practice to assess a baseline and then create a plan for future sessions.
As a military spouse, I've seen how chronic stress and trauma can ravage a body and mind. I'm deeply committed to sharing the practices of yoga and meditation with others so they can reduce their own suffering and live as the fullest expression of themselves. My goal is to provide practices that will allow students to eventually not need me; I want them to be able to practice anywhere, anytime they need. This allows them to be their own guru and healer -- which is what each of us already are.
