Alice is an Alexander Technique teacher certified by the American Society of the Alexander Technique (M.AmSAT).
As a dancer, performer, and athlete, Alice connected to the AT work deeply because it is an experiential modality that takes into consideration the person's mental and physical connection. In her approach to the AT work, Alice believes that by learning about how we are doing what we do with our mind and body’s connections we can unearth opportunities for change, evolve our own patterns or habits, and heal.
The Alexander Technique, offers a process and framework for creating a sustainable relationship to the mindbody connection. The AT work provides practical knowledge and application of how to move and use your body throughout your lifestyle so that it supports you rather than strains you.

Alice is currently on faculty at the Balance Arts Center (NYC) and Movement Research (NYC). She has taught and facilitated workshops at The HealGood Collective, Union & Co, Beacon Hill Staffing Group, Freedom to Move Conference, SUNY Purchase College, Juilliard, The New School, AT Singing, and Opera Arts Antwerp.
Alice maintains a teaching practice in NYC, Southern Maine, and online. Alice incorporates her connection to meditation and process-oriented healing modalities.
After years of being chronically injured and managing pain as a performer and athlete, I shifted from looking for quick fixes, began listening to my body, and embarked on a path towards healing and finding ways to create a supportive relationship to it. I began studying the Alexander Technique and was struck by the connection that it invited between how I was thinking, moving, and feeling. Through being guided to a new understanding and depth of working with my own awareness and agency over how I was using and tending to my body I started to see empowering changes. I began to heal from spine and nerve injuries as my overall balance changed and I addressed patterns in my physicality that had been contributing to my injuries. I was drawn to the way AT seeks to address underlying habits and tendencies that can contribute to pain and strain in the body overtime. I continue to be a student of this work and other healing and learning modalities and continue to be fascinated by the potential, creativity, and expression of the human body.
Beginning to pay attention to one’s body, one’s self, and how we’re attending to that connection in a conscious way begins differently with each person. Clients often have “aha” moments in their first session when they notice something new about how they’ve been moving or using their bodies. These “aha” moments empower clients with knowledge and awareness to address patterns of pain or imbalance in the body. Clients also express experiencing a sense of renewed balance or a state calm, groundedness, or ease as they move into a more balanced, integrated state with ease in attention and effort.
We spend our whole lives in our bodies. AT allows one to invest time and attention into how we’re moving in our bodies so that we can do that mindfully and in a healthy way. This work can guide someone to a more integrated relationship to their mindbody connection and coordination, help relieve pain or heal from injury, and build an understanding of awareness, breath, and flow.
