I'd like for you to know me as someone who has endured ill health and overcame it. I realized that my experiences of childhood trauma and the emotional effects of these experiences were one I was ultimately "choosing" as a narrative in my life. I realized that in order to free myself from this emotional pain I would need to go inwards to understand my contributions to my current experience. I had my body communicating to me that I am not healthy and symptoms were starting to appear and I didn't realize that it was due to my digestion and lack of proper care for myself that I experienced symptoms that targeted different bodily systems. I looked for natural remedies to my situation because it felt like it was the appropriate way to care for myself. Along my research journey of natural remedies for my own health, I came across Ayurveda, an ancient system of medicine, yet practical approach to healing the body holistically. I learned more about myself and how to manage my life with Ayurvedic principles. I believe we are the ones who manifest and create our current experience, so we do need to take responsibility for our selves before we can show up in the world for anybody else. I took on the journey of studying Ayurveda, becoming a certified Ayurveda Practitioner, while also receiving certification as a Yoga Instructor. I wanted to expand my practice of bodywork treatments and working to alleviate pain and stress for my clients, so I added certification as a Massage Therapist.
My philosophy of care is that I treat everyone equally, respectfully, professionally and consider them as a whole person, an individual who is requesting healing facilitation for their mind, body, and spirit. I dedicate my work to being of wellness and caring service to those who are ready to work together on their healing plan. I provide a safe space where they can be vulnerable, discuss their concerns and it would remain completely confidential while encouraging the opportunity to heal.
Whether the client is working with me on a virtual Telehealth visit, or if they are meeting with me in person, during an initial Ayurvedic Consultation they can expect to have completed a pre-visit questionnaire form prior to their first visit. During the initial visit, we discuss the clients responses to their form and gather additional information if needed. I would educate about the causative factors and provide an Ayurvedic treatment plan with duration of treatments for optimum results.
My inspiration to become a healer came from my desire to heal myself and I knew that I had to trust in my own ability to take action on how to approach it. I knew my mother and grandmother used to use plants for healing purposes and I think this contributed to my belief in natural approaches to healing and relieving symptoms. I believed in it because I had experienced these natural medicines work for me. I realized that I want to live a purposeful life and want to help those who want to heal.
