House Call Specialty Lymphatic Treatment
Our therapists, also known as Certified Lymphedema Therapists, have undergone 150+ hours of extra training to be certified in Complete Decongestive Therapy. This is the treatment of swelling, pain, inflammation, and bruising whether it's from a chronic condition or from a surgery. Some massage therapists claim to know how to complete manual lymphatic drainage, but have not been certified in this very effective technique. Taping is another way to address the lymphatic system to clear swelling and bruising as seen on the left. What makes Back to Life unique is that we strive to help people be independent by teaching them these techniques to apply between sessions to maximize the effects. As health professionals we can provide wound assessment and dressing changes if your doctor orders. Having an extra set of eyes on incisions between doctor visits helps with peace of mind and preventing complications. We work closely with your surgeon or primary doctor.

House Call Massage
This includes a combination of the below techniques based on preferences/need: Deep Tissue Massage: Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization known as IASTM or Gua Sha uses different tools/instruments and pressure as an extension of the therapist's hands to feel for any restrictions in the tissue and get rid of deep knots affecting motion and causing pain. Medical Massage: This type of massage uses various techniques to address conditions diagnosed by a doctor. It will focus on the areas causing the most issues. Examples would include back or neck injury, tendonitis, or sprain/strains. Sports Massage: Not only for athletes but addresses specific pains and joint motion restrictions through a combination of massage techniques and targeted stretches. The therapist will guide you through the motions and teach you stretches to complete at home to maintain results.

Learn More About Amberly Wiese MOT, R/L, CLT

About me

I've been an occupational therapist for over 10 years. I've worked in just about every setting in rehabilitation. When in school there was not a focus on wellness overall. We would rehabilitate someone so they could be independent at home, but never answered the question about what's next. The insurance model really limits wellness and prevention activities because they usually don't cover it. I created this company so that we could provide our expertise throughout the life span and for many different issues.
I also have a special interest in wellness because of my own journey over the years. I was finally diagnosed with a genetic connective tissue disorder with chronic pain and fatigue. With the help of a great team of PTs, doctors, and support groups for nutrition, I've been able to stay functional most days. Because of that I really understand the frustrations people have with the insurance model and the struggle to find a provider who can help. I hope to be that provider! If I find that you may be served better with a different provider, I'm happy to help you find someone.

My Philosophy of Care

My usual steps are to identify and address issues like pain, weakness, and decreased range of motion that are affecting function through the use of relaxing techniques and corrective exercises/stretches. After that is addressed, we address your long-term goals with fitness and overall function. We call this "Mount Do-More." (see graphic in photos).

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

You should expect someone who listens to you, finds out what is most important to you, and provides a thorough exam with steps you can immediately take to work toward feeling better.

My Inspiration

I've always wanted to help people and have a love of learning and science. After graduating I was able to experience the power of using meaningful activities (the "occupation" in occupational therapy) to create huge changes and improvements.
