I have been in healthcare since the age of 15, volunteering at my local hospital. I went on to be a medical assistant, phlebotomist and later a Nurse and still practice in the field today for almost 20 years now. I love problem solving and everything health related.
After several family losses I gained more than a hundred pounds and yo-yo dieted for years. I used the science I loved to lose that weight and later went on to formally study nutrition and became a holistic practitioner. As a Health and Wellness Coach I help people lose weight and keep it off so they can be confident and energized in their body. I know the impacts on self-esteem so we celebrate every win to build on it. I understand people have real concerns around dieting and restrictions. I work with clients to help them find a lifestyle that they can not only love, but live with for continued success. Losing weight is not just about nutrition, but lifestyle choices that dramatically impact one's ability to lose and maintain weight. Stress management, adequate sleep, environment, support systems, self care, and hydration are equally important. I specialize in gut health, hormones, thyroid disorders, metabolism and auto-immune. I personally manage them all in my own life through nutrition.
Any diet can help you lose weight but if you do not incorporate lifestyle changes you will always be on a diet. Learning to eat quality food to support your body through the life-span only has to be done once.
Our first meeting will be a time to become acquainted, gain insights on the clients desired short and long term goals, any challenges, previous barriers and current lifestyle. Collaborating together to develop a clear plan for improving their health through nutrition to achieve their desired goals and quality health. The client will leave feeling excited, motivated, understood, confident, valued and supported.
People can often refer back to a time that motivated or inspired them to become a healer. I have always just felt at home with people and always knew this is where I belong. It's always been a part of my core values.
