Beth is amazing and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I had to work with her. I started seeing her because my wife gave me a few sessions as a gift but after the first session I was hooked! I was working through some shoulder mobility issues from an old snowboarding injury, as well as chronic anxiety and depression exacerbated by COVID-19. Our sessions helped me connect the mental and physical connections between body and mood, and left me with more tools in my toolbelt to cope with future issues when they inevitably arise. Thank you Beth!
I worked with Beth to heal a lower back injury that was only getting worse over time and traveling into my hip. I hadn’t realized that so much of my pain was connected to my mental and emotional health. Beth helped me to connect all of the dots so I could tap deeply into the root of the pain. She is thorough, empathetic, and held me accountable, which is what I needed to support healing and growth across all pillars of my health. I not only found a yoga therapist in Beth but a true confidant and healer. I can’t recommend her highly enough, especially for people who are living life on the go and need practices that work on the days when you just can’t hold down your routine
Beth is a fantastic teacher. I came to Beth following a snowboarding accident that left me with a fractured T5 vertebrae and chronic pain in the surround region. I was also recovering from a lower back strain. Basically, my whole back was messed up and causing a lot of discomfort. Beth's approach was unique in that she combined strengthening with flexibility and mindfulness to not only treat the existing symptoms, but also to prevent injuries like this from happening again. Beth is a great listener as well, and we spent a full session going over all aspects of my health, so that she could tailor a set of exercises to my specific needs. Beth is also a genuine and caring person, and I'd highly recommend working with her.

Learn More About Beth Foley

About me

My work combines the ancient wisdom of yoga with the modern principles of somatic psychology to support clients on their path of healing.

I work with a wide range of clients seeking more freedom in their lives. This presents in a multitude of ways—freedom from pain, addiction, anxiety, depression, insomnia, grief, fatigue, digestive problems, persistent stress, women’s wellness issues, emotional imbalance, spiritual stagnation—and the list goes on.

My Philosophy of Care

I was called to this path through my own healing journey. During a destabilizing bout with cancer in my late twenties, I felt so empowered and supported by the yoga therapy tools I had learned, and I knew that I must shift my career to share this healing work with my community.

I am so grateful to be doing that now.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

Thorough! In our first visit, we do a detailed intake together so I can better understand where you're at physically, mentally, and emotionally. From there, I share practical tools to support you on your healing journey. These are tools that you can easily incorporate into your everyday life, starting right after our first session!

My Inspiration

In my 1:1 yoga therapy sessions, I offer a safe space for exploration and curiosity around your internal landscape. It can look many different ways, but often involves me sharing customized meditations, postures, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and lifestyle recommendations to suit your unique needs. It’s a very intuitive, compassionate, and co-creative process.

Yoga therapy is often used as a complement to Western medicine and psychology, offering additional tools to holistically treat various kinds of psychological or somatic dis-ease, ranging from low back pain to emotional distress. Both the western and yogic approaches share the same understanding of the human being as an integrated body-mind system, which can function optimally only when there is a state of dynamic balance. And that is exactly what we work towards in our sessions together.

Beth is a fantastic teacher. I came to Beth following a snowboarding accident that left me with a fractured T5 vertebrae and chronic pain in the surround region. Beth's approach was unique in that she combined strengthening with flexibility and mindfulness to not only treat the existing symptoms, but also to prevent injuries like this from happening again. Beth is such a lovely teacher. Her energy is so calm and kind. It’s really easy to open up about how I am feeling and what's going on in my body. Some of my reasons for working with her are deeply personal and she was the first person (ever) I felt comfortable sharing with. She held the container, always judgment-free, and really opened the gates for deeper healing. She also put in the extra time outside of our sessions to do research and send supportive ideas + meditations my way, which was a lovely and unexpected treat. She truly has her heart in this work and is beautiful at what she does. I would highly recommend Beth.
I came to Beth with chronic upper back pain and lower back stiffness that make it difficult to get out of bed some mornings. Beth assessed my condition in our first session to help me understand what was happening in my body. We did a number of sessions after that, where Beth instructed me on yoga exercises to help address tightness in my hips, thoracic spine and shoulders that were creating tension in my body. She would also leave me homework of exercises to do in between sessions to continue my progress. I was nervous going on (as I was not a Yogi by any means), but Beth was kind, compassionate, and helped me learn quickly. I was feeling better almost immediately and can now say my lower back pain is almost non-existent and my upper back pain gets better every week. Our sessions even helped me discover a (newly found) love for Yoga which I have been practicing at a studio outside of our sessions. Beth was wonderful to work with and could not recommend her more.
I experience stress-related chronic pain and anxiety. I had no idea yoga therapy could help until I started with Beth. She not only guides me through the steps in identifying why I am stressed and which part of my body is affected, but also teaches me how to ameliorate the pain on my own time. Excited to continue learning!
