I started my journey in the wellness field in 2000, attending Massage Therapy school in Arizona. This gave me such an appreciation for anatomy and physiology (which I went on to teach in 2006). The human body is a marvel and this made me want to know more. I studied on my own for years, helping my clients take their health and wellness to the next level beyond the massage table. When my children were old enough for me to pursue my education further, I earned my certificate in Integrative Nutritional Health Coaching from IIN. Here, I gained in-depth knowledge in nutritional theories and was guided to take a holistic view of my clients' lives to find stress factors and imbalances because it it all impacts health and wellbeing. Working as a team with my clients, we aim to help these areas in their lives and to learn new strategies to help with future issues, in order for them to have long term success in their wellness goals.
I lead workshops and offer one-on-one health and nutrition coaching, massage, and Reiki. I will guide you in choosing the right treatment to help you reach emotional and physical wellbeing, tailoring all sessions to your specific needs with an emphasis on holistic health.
I started my career in Social Work and saw directly how living conditions and stress all had an impact on physical health of my clients and likewise, how their physical health then caused more stress in other aspects of their lives like finances, relationships etc; it was a vicious circle. I saw massage as a way to help them destress, reconnect with their bodies, and ease some of their physical discomfort. It has been a gradual journey in those 20 years to other modalities that can help treat the whole person, including Health Coaching and Reiki.
Whether I'm seeing someone for Massage Therapy, Health Coaching, or Reiki, I start with no assumptions; I spend time really listening to their unique situations and specific needs and start where they are comfortable. With Health Coaching, I provide a free half hour consultation to make sure I am the right fit for your needs.
Everyone could use a Health Coach! Especially if you feel "stuck" and have been unsuccessful in breaking certain habits or starting heathy ones. I can provide ideas, motivation, accountability, and help you lay out and stick to your plan. Let's talk it through and find where the roadblocks are and how you can get past them! Health Coaching involves meeting twice a week and email support between meetings, ideally for 3-6 months depending on the situation.
