Learn More About Charis Calender-Suemnick, NHP

About me

I am a Michigan native with a deep passion for natural health. I began my natural health journey in 2002 when I decided to take control of my health and change my diet. Over the years, I am extremely grateful to celebrate good health and genuinely feel rewarded for the efforts I make to live an authentic life filled with whole organic food, herbal support, vitamins, minerals and clean water.

I am passionate about organic food, homeopathic remedies, muscle testing, essential oils, acupuncture, flower essences, filtered water, Iridology, Reflexology and anything that can assist a person in healing from the inside out. Over the years, I have explored and researched natural health modalities extensively. My broad knowledge and array of experiences with numerous therapies allows me to understand my clients on a deeper level and connect to the unique needs of the individual.

I am currently studying to become a Naturopathic Doctor in Mt. Pleasant and have been working with clients in the Detroit area since 2018. I am a registered yoga teacher, RY200 and a certified Waldorf teacher. I hold a BS in Communication from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I have taught special needs children, ballroom dance and private piano lessons to all ages. I was a member of the “Up With People” performing arts group and travelled around the world for a year. I have a deep passion for culture and have travelled to over 20 countries.

My Philosophy of Care

I began my natural health journey in 2002 when I made an appointment to see a Naturopath. After a lifetime of digestive issues and illnesses, I became instantly inspired by the blood type diet, the work of Weston A. Price and herbal supplements that assist the body in finding balance. As I implemented a new diet with whole, organic foods, less processed foods and less sugar, I could feel my entire body changing in miraculous ways. My chronic health issues began to disappear and it felt like I had a whole new physical body.

This experience inspired me to become a wellness professional and assist others in changing their eating habits in order to change their life and positively effect their health and wellness.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

My clients receive a plethora of information during their first visit and leave with a newfound sense of hope. I spend time connecting with each person and getting to know their story and their health concerns. We cover goals for the initial appointment and in addition focus on their long-term health. Clients learn things about themselves and their health that they may have not known before.

The first visit focuses on the modalities of Iridology, muscle testing and nutritional counseling. Clients receive a typed report of their concerns, goals and the suggestions (herbs, minerals, vitamins, lifestyle changes etc.) I offer to assist them in restoring their health.

My Inspiration

The iris contains the map to every organ, tissue and gland inside the body. Experiencing Iridology, or an analysis of your eyes, is like knowing yourself on a deeper and more intimate level. The eye contains information about genetic traits and inherited weaknesses. The eyes are truly the "window to the soul" and serve as a guidebook on how to take care of yourself for life.
