Chris is a true master at what he does! I highly recommend him for amazing body work!
Chris helped me understand the "why" and "how" of my sciatic pain following knee surgery through his deep understanding of the body. He is powerful and patient, and a joy to work with
I have a history of scoliosis. I was diagnosed at age 11. It actually never gave me any problems until I was much older. I went to see Chris because my back went out when I went to bend forward. I had a lot of pelvic and sciatic pain. It was really affecting my work. I had a Rolfing session a few years ago. I wanted to find somebody in this field to help with my now, pelvic pain, and for my issues with scoliosis. This is not your typical deep tissue massage. It's much more than that. Chris is very knowledgeable about the human body and how it all works and functions together as a whole. He teaches his clients the method and meaning of how Rolfing works. After my first session I started to feel a lot better. I can say that I'm pain-free. I have learned more about how my body works as a whole with Chris's knowledge and teachings. Do not hesitate, it is worth your time to see Chris

Learn More About Chris Corrales

About me

Chris Corrales' lifetime training as a martial artist and his 25 years as a manual therapist have given him insights into the body that most current diagnoses, drugs, scans and healthcare therapies overlook when it comes to unexplained orthopedic pain.

Observations into his own body, clinical experience, and science are the tools he uses to understand his clients holistically and multi-dimensionally. Chris believes that this is the future of pain assessments because it is truly client centered which science and experience tells us is what matters most.

When modern pain science talks about "the person" it is referring to the latest findings on the interaction between the brain and body. Chris believes that this is the West's contribution to holistic paradigms, and by the results he gets it works!

In addition he resides on the Board of Directors for the International Association for Structural Integrators as secretary and volunteers at the world renown San Diego Pain Summit, the only multi-disciplinary pain convention in the world.

Born and raised in San Diego, the Bay Area has been home now for 24 years. He loves people, spending time in nature, hiking, traveling, and family. The Great Pause caused by COVID-19 called him to one of his greatest passions where he began facilitating middle aged men's groups. He's currently in training to become a life coach.

My Philosophy of Care

The central modality I practice is called Structural Integration. Since its inception it has been known as the holistic hands-on therapy.

Structural Integration's founder, Dr. Ida Rolf, saw generational family history and social impact as parts of the puzzle that should always be included with body alignment, movement patterns, habits and lifestyle that are often overlooked.

It is fruitful to treat the person and futile to chase symptoms.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

There are 3 steps to become a client at MedicinEvolution.

1) Our first connection will be a 15 minute free phone consultation. If the program seems to be a good fit for you . . .

2) We'd schedule a Movement Assessment and Strategy Session where you really begin to understand your pattern. Then, we layout what your individualized program will look like for you and you get to choose if you'd like to join the program.

3) Enroll in the program

My Inspiration

Because the root causes of pain are so hard to diagnose and most modern scans, drugs, surgery, and therapies do a pretty weak job of treating it I saw the opportunity for pain to be a portal for self-awareness which gives people their lives back.

I found that hands-on therapy, science, and self-awareness were the 3 things that enlightened and empowered clients about their bodies, truly helping them out of pain.

Chris is the most intuitive and knowledgeable bodywork expert I've come across, and I've been "on the hunt" for at least 10 years. I have a history of scoliosis and bulging discs, which contribute to compensatory patterns causing chronic pain, in most of my body. Massage therapists, Rolfers, Myofascial release experts, physical therapists, acupuncturists, just to name a few, I've tried them all, and none can compare to the magic that is Chris Corrales. Before I started working with Chris, I could count on one hand the times I'd been able to remember having 2 pain-free days in a row in a YEAR. (Meaning; most days I would WAKE UP already in pain) Now, in less than 6-months of regular sessions I can say I'm pain free most of the time AND if I find myself in pain- I can trace it back to a specific event and I have the tools to help myself feel better in a way I never have before. He's really helped me to inhabit my body in a way I never knew was possible.Chris is a healer. But more than that, he is a teacher. You'll notice above, I said "working with Chris" and I mean this literally. If you're open to making the most of it, a session with him is a collaborative experience where his passion for helping you out of pain is surpassed only by his knowledge of functional anatomy. And he is a MASTER! It's uncanny - he'll just give your foot or your wrist a little shake and he'll be able to see exactly where the tension is in your body. And then he goes to town! He's not a big dude- but DAMN is he strong. If you can handle deep work and want to see REAL results -- he's your guyIF you're looking for a spa-type massage where you just lie there and check-out & someone rubs your back for an hour, then his talent will be wasted on you. Go to massage envy instead
