Dana has a way of integrating several styles and techniques of massage and cranio-sacral therapies to address individual problem areas. She chooses the technique that will be the most effective for that particular visit. Very experienced and intuitive!
Ok. I admit that at first I was a little skeptical. After all, I've had Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue for 14 years now, and most of my massages thru those years have been "hands on", doing myofascial release and stretching. However, I had a couple CranioSacral (CS) sessions a few years ago, and they were ok so I said "yes" to Dana. I had no idea that that decision would be one of the best I've ever made. I'm gravity-challenged: I fall a lot. It's part of the Fibromyalgia. So when Dana started doing CS in me it was after a recent & particularly painful fall. I'm also overweight, so when I hit the ground I hit HARD. Think 6.5 on the Richter scale. I was dubious that CS could help with my pain from that fall, and the Fibro, when Dana wasn't actively kneading my muscles. But I said Yes to the CS, and away we went. Basically I laid there and she lightly touched very specific parts of my body while encouraging me to relax and soften each part. So, I did. And IT WORKED!!! I could feel a gentle vibration sometimes, almost like a pulsing, and the area Dana was working on would relax. Sometimes I felt a lot, sometimes a little, sometimes nothing. That is normal, I learned. I also learned that the CS work "continued" in my body hours after I left Dana. Sometimes I would feel an ache or dull pain, sometimes a vibration or a pulse. I learned that gentle movement, like making circles with my arms, legs or torso, helped to stop the ache. My body was telling me it was still adjusting to the CS work and trying to help itself. So... I continue to go - for almost a year now, and it's working wonders. I still have Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue and I always will, but Dana's experience and growing expertise with CS therapy is greatly improving my quality of life. Please try it, if it's offered to you, and keep an open mind. If you trust Dana she will not disappoint you.
Yesterday, I received an amazing bodywork session from Dana, which included Craniosacral Therapy and Gua Sha. For several years now, I have had a chronic shoulder condition nagging away at me to stop and take care of myself. During the session with Dana, I experienced tension leaving my body. Today I worked hard without any limitations and even had the courage to jump up onto a tall bed of a truck without hesitation. Amazingly, I slept well last night and feel full of vigor today. I will go back for a follow up session in a couple of weeks. With Dana's good work, I feel like there is hope for repairing the imbalance that I have been dealing with. Thank you SO SO SO much, Dana!

Learn More About Dana Danielson

About me

Dana's life-long fascination with dance, the body, music, nature and creative energy has all come together to create Soul Waves Studio. She is most interested in guiding people toward experiences which help them to become "embodied and present." She wishes to help folks move toward a lifestyle of sustainable and holistic FEELING GOOD.

The studio hosts several Independent Therapists and Practitioners as well as hosts Group Wellness Classes and Events. As an individual, Dana offers Craniosacral Therapy and teaches a Movement Meditation, called 5Rhythms.

My Philosophy of Care

"I strongly believe that through bodywork, movement, awareness practices, and more, we keep the body and mind fluid and the energy or QI flowing. And hence, we give the body a chance to heal and be vibrant."

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

A visit to the studio, is like being bathed in calm and peaceful waters. Music is in the air and a beautiful nature-inspired setting is all around. Whether attending a class or receiving a private session, clients love the sense of serenity and the inspiring surroundings.

My Inspiration

Dana is always inspired by nature and its healing powers. She is immensely influenced by several 5Rhythms teachers, including Gabrielle Roth. For 20 years, 5Rhythms (a Meditation Dance) has been a constant "life-enriching" thread. Craniosacral Therapy (Upledger's) has been another practice to strongly effect her work. All these things have the Gestalt Theory essentially at play. Which in a nutshell means, to shift awareness to "what is" the experience, in the moment.

Dana treated me for a hamstring pull and a groin pull and attendant bruising yesterday, and today I can walk without mimicking a bowlegged cowboy!
Dana is a true professional, always striving to improve her knowledge of massage techniques and holistic therapy. After a session with Dana, my stress level is near zero and muscle tightness and pain are greatly reduced. Thank you Dana!
Having worked in the medical profession for many yearsI was skeptical of cranio sacral therapy at first, but it is hard to remain skeptical when the results are so noticable. I go to Dana So that I can retain my range of motion and reduce stiffness and chronic back pain. Her expert massage technique and cranio sacral therapy works every time!
