For 30 years, Dr. Cindy Sholes has studied why we do the things we do and how we can take control over our lives.
Dr. Sholes received her PhD. in Neuroscience from the University of California at San Francisco. She is certified as a Medical Hypnotherapist, a Brain Health Coach, and a Transform30 Lifestyle Coach. In addition, she has training in Neuro Emotional Technique® and Interactive Guided Imagery. She is a Les Brown trained inspirational speaker and educator. As a neuroscientist, Dr. Cindy highly values continued education and is always finding the most outstanding and effective therapies and information. This continued training allows her to select the best and most effective therapy for each individual client. She has been practicing since 2003. Dr. Cindy is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists the nation's premier hypnosis organization.
Dr. Cindy assists people, who really want to make a big impact on the world, to become more of their authentic, inspired selves. She supports them to achieve their goals by clearing out the old emotional baggage that clutters their minds and saps their energy. She guides them to optimize their brain function, so they can be energized, passionate and empowered to make a big difference. She is available for individual appointments as well as talks, classes and workshops on choosing happiness, achieving greatness, inspired leadership, the mind-body connection, the mind game of weight control, and balanced brain wellness.
When it comes to mental health we are often asking the wrong questions. "What is wrong with me?" A better question might be, as Oprah and Dr. Bruce Perry suggest, "What happened to me?" It gets closer to the truth, but can lead us down a rabbithole. When we ask lousy questions, we get lousy answers. Let's find out what you want in your life and what is going on that you feel stuck. The first 20 min of our session we will be talking about your goals and aspirations as well as the obstacles to getting there. The obstacles are like weeds choking out the good growth in the garden of your mind. Once we have an emotional map of your life, we will begin pulling the weeds out by the roots, nurturing the existing growth and plant new seeds to give you the power to tend your own mental garden.
I have always been interested in why people do what they do. I think it's because of the abandonment I had as a child. This question drove me to study how the brain works at the deepest levels at one of the best Neuroscience graduate schools in the US. Understanding the biology left many holes and didn't tell me why I would sometimes react in hurtful ways I later regretted. I became a healer because I needed healing. I continue to explore how to engage the power of the mind to heal for good.
