We know that health is so much more than just not feeling pain. We strive to have our patients reach their fullest innate potential.
I was entering my junior year at the University of Charleston. At the time I was playing baseball for U.C. which was my dream and at the time the passion of my life. One summer evening I was driving home from work when I got into an auto accident. At first I was extremely irritable with everyone, even my own mother. Everyone was worried because they had never seen me this way.
One evening later in the summer I was waiting tables when a Chiropractor came in for dinner with his wife. He could tell something was wrong, so he asked me if he could help. I explained that I was having massive headaches, migraines, sleeplessness and anxiety. He explained to me that the accident had probably injured my spine and nerve system and the accident was the straw that broke the camels back. At fist I thought how could this be. I had walked away with no broken bones or even a bruise. I knew something had changed and the longer I waited the worse my health got. I decided to make an appointment.
On the first visit the Chiropractor did a case history, Chiropractic exam and took the necessary films of my spine to make sure he had the information to make sure he could help me before starting my care. The second visit he explained to me my findings and that he found subluxations(spinal injuries that can pinch or irritate the nerves) and he explained to me that Chiropractors took care of subluxations by adjusting the spine. Most importantly he explained that he could help me! He started to adjust my spine(adjustments are light impulses applied to the injured area of the spine). The adjustments didn't hurt, they actually felt great, and I started to notice how much better I felt and my body was functioning much better. This inspired me to do the same for others, so I went to Chiropractic college myself.
I am a graduate of Nitro High School in Nitro W.V. After high school I attended the University of Charleston where I majored in biology and minored in chemistry before deciding to go to Chiropractic college. I then moved to Davenport, IA. where I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, as a presidential scholar and was a member of Pi Tau Delta honor society. I have traveled to Budapest Hungary and across the United States to spread the message of Chiropractic across the globe. I finished my internships in Brooklyn, M.I. where I met my beautiful wife Honesty. We now have an amazing daughter named Cadence whom I've adjusted since she was 5 minutes old. We have two dogs, a cat and fish that we love to spend time with. As a family we are always on the go which tends to drive my wife a little nuts as our daughter is my female mini me. We love to travel and learn about new cultures.
Beyond serving my patients I am a certified seminar speaker at Palmer College of Chiropractic and Life University. I have taught office training, office procedures, and patient education for the Chiropractic profession.
