You are worthy of resting and restoring as a consistent part of your wellness ritual
I spent most of my life struggling with feelings of unworthiness, constant 'doing' and the need to strive for perfection - until I began practicing yoga about 25 years ago, and began a daily meditation practice about 15 years ago. I became a yoga teacher in 2013 and my path led me to Restorative Yoga in 2019, when I studied to become a Restorative Yoga teacher with Judith Hanson Lasater. I have finally learned to allow myself the gift of slowing down and resting, which has affected all areas of my life. I love sharing the benefits of the practice with others.
Our culture doesn't encourage us to 'do nothing,' but the value of a Restorative Yoga practice cannot be over-emphasized. It truly transforms one's life on all levels.
It's important to me to meet my students where they are, to remain open and curious, and to keep the practice simple and accessible. Simplicity and quality are two of my highest values. It is always my intention to be present and to listen well.
A review of health history, desired benefits from the practice of Restorative Yoga and how I can best provide support in reaching those benefits. Discussion of props. Two - three Restorative Yoga poses and time for discussion of how they felt afterwards.
