My name is Gretchen Scalpi. I am a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist, and Health & Wellness Coach. My goal when working with people is to help them find ways to improve their health and wellness through the power of good nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits. I am an entrepreneur, author, health & wellness coach, and nutrition consultant. My books cover the topics of prediabetes, diabetes and managing the gluten free diet.
I have worked in many different health care settings for over 25 years, and have taught nutrition courses for area community colleges.
My wellness coaching and private nutrition practice was created in 2002. Today my wellness coaching and nutrition practice is 100% virtual; I work with clients over the telephone or by secure video conferencing. My nutrition and wellness coaching services are specialized in the areas of general wellness, diabetes/ prediabetes, weight management, and food sensitivities.

My interest in nutrition dates back to my high school and early college years. After earning my degree in Nutrition, I spent many years working in the clinical nutrition setting. Eventually I came to the conclusion that dieting or fad diets were not the answer to weight loss or better health. I became interested in the concept of wellness, and earned a certification in this area. Living a healthy lifestyle addresses the needs of the whole person...it's not just about following a diet.
My clients are often overwhelmed, stressed, or too busy to know how to start living a healthy life. During our first virtual visit I help clients create their health goals and action plan. We may discuss strategies to reduce stress, manage weight, buy and cook healthy food, or plan appropriate exercise for a daily routine. My goal is to be there for support, suggestions, and to cheer you on throughout your journey to a healthier life!
