About me

I was born in California but raised here in beautiful Utah. I spent my childhood as a typical american kid- playing basketball in the neighborhood, loving to dance and riding bikes. As a California girl at heart, I always wanted to return to the ocean. I think I always knew I would be a healer of some kind. As a kid, I wanted to become a veterinarian. In college, I thought it would be amazing to be a professional dancer but I quickly learned I was not cut out for that lifestyle. So I looked into becoming a physical therapist. I got my feet wet in that field by working as a physical therapy aid in a couple of local hospitals. I loved helping people but did not enjoy the mentality behind care in the western model- which was to get patients out as quickly as possible. I knew I wanted to help people in a deeper, more profound way. A good friend of mine introduced me to the natural healthcare world through massage therapy school. I attended Utah College of Massage Therapy in 1997 and graduated in 1998 at the top of my class. My whole viewpoint on life and health opened up while in massage school. It was there that I was first introduced to acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I knew at that point I wanted to learn more. I came to acupuncture out of curiosity and fascination- I hadn't even had an acupuncture treatment and I already loved it. It wasn't until a few years later, I had finally made it back to California, did I finally receive my first acupuncture treatment and I was hooked. My weekly acupuncture treatments have helped me navigate three pregnancies without any aches and pains, recover from seasonal allergies, ease a lifelong digestive disturbance, keep emotions balanced, soothe a skin condition and keep me looking young. I have also seen this remarkable medicine help my second daughter recover from a severe upper respiratory infection. I attended Five Branches University where I received my Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. I learned from top professionals from both the US and China. Post graduate work has included Mei Zen Cosmetic acupuncture, healing emotional disorders, aromatherapy in TCM, pediatric essentials and advanced acupuncture pediatrics. This medicine has benefitted my life and the lives of my family and friends so much that I can't wait to share it with everyone. I believe anyone can receive benefit from Chinese medicine and acupuncture. It is my honor to share it.

My Philosophy of Care

I was inspired to become a wellness professional after having a complete health upgrade with massage therapy school and Chinese medicine. With the support of massage and Chinese medicine I was able to heal allergies, improve digestive function, and have three healthy pregnancies and home births.
