Jennifer Rhodes, PhD, has been a licensed psychologist for over 30 years with a former longstanding private practice in Tempe, AZ. She has a masters degree from Johns Hopkins University in Mental Hygiene and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Arizona State University. RheaAnna, as she likes to be called, loves to grow personally and to help others do the same. Her quest for growth took her to Montana for several years after she closed her office in Tempe where she sought to go deeper within her truth to a fuller authenticity.
RheaAnna’s return to psychology led her to work with a company that provided brain activation to elderly patients, especially those with dementia. Although she loved the opportunity to support folks in this way, she felt called to move to Tucson to begin a career in life coaching. After receiving certification in spirit-centered coaching, she has enjoyed assisting clients in a different way where the process is more present focused and without the guidelines offered by medical systems. A particular passion is assisting those over 50 adjust to the many changes that occur as we get older.
While working as a coach, RheaAnna discovered that there were limited resources in the Tucson area for referral to Medicare mental health providers. She also recognized that she missed using her gifts as a psychologist. When the opportunity arose to join Catalina Clinic, RheaAnna was delighted to re-ignite her psychology talents and become part of such a prestigious group with similar treatment values.
Energy psychology and a focus on the positive are the two primary areas that have inspired RheaAnna in recent years. She uses EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or tapping) in her work as well as other mind-body approaches that can help resolve issues more quickly as they deal with the body’s response to a stressor. Concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, grief, aging, women’s empowerment and spiritual issues are just a few of the matters addressed in her work. She accepts several insurance plans.
