I love working with Jillian! She has an amazing ability to step out of the box to think a situation through and come up with new ways to move forward. About me

I am a certified Life and Health Coach with a drive to help others. I spent 20 years in the military before retiring to begin my new life helping people through coaching. I have a passion for helping others and know we all just need someone to believe in us and hold us accountable. I believe in a holistic approach to healing and that most problems can be solved by changing our habits and unhealthy beliefs.

My Philosophy of Care

I am a retired U.S. Army Soldier who spent most of her career leading and guiding Soldiers. The multitude of mentor, instructor, and advocacy roles I filled developed my innate need to help others find harmony and happiness. I have learned over the years that the majority of humans know what steps they need to take to make the improvements they want, but they don't know how to break free of the limiting beliefs that hold them in place. Through experience and training, I have learned key tools that help people break free and I would enjoy nothing more than to add those tools to your tool bag.

Coaching is not for everyone. My free consultation will help us determine if coaching is right for you. Coaches are here to give you the tools to create the conditions and habits you need for success. However, we are not here to tell you what to do. Instead, coaches work with their clients as a team combining the coach's knowledge with the client's input to create a recipe for success. We are the unbiased support network you need to keep you on track for your goals. If you had everything you wanted you wouldn't be reading this right now, it is my job as a coach to help you find what you are looking for. Harmonizing Habits Answers
Constance, as a retired military soldier I have personally had to work through a number of PTSD triggers. It took a long time to recognize that certain reactions I had were a result of my PTSD. The first step I had to do was identify my triggers. Different triggers often have different reactions and therefore need a different approach. For example, when I am triggered by sound I tended to try to hide and shut things out, but when I am triggered by unexpected touch I tended to become angry. For sound one approach I used was a focus exercise or guided imagery. The particular focus exercise that helped me goes as follows: 1. Identify 5 things you can see 2. Identify 5 things your can hear 3. Identify 5 things you can smell 4. Identify 5 things you can feel Once you do that go over each of those again, except take the number down to 4, then to 3, and so on. The point of the exercise is to take your focus off the triggering item/event. You will want to remove yourself from the triggering area first if possible, but it can be done on site. Another approach that is gaining a lot more support for those with high PTSD are support animals. This can be expensive but for those people that are easily and often triggered, support animals have shown to significantly drop recovery times after a person is triggered. Guided imagery is form of focused relaxation or meditation. Some people have difficulty stopping/slowing a noisy mind or spiraling thoughts that lead to difficulty sleeping, anxiety, and stress. Guided imagery focuses on a positive and relaxing image that is intended to calm the listener down. The guide should be pulling all the listener's senses into the image for the best results so that the listener can almost feel they are a part of the image and they are fully focused on the image. The listener becomes so enveloped in the image that the previous disturbing/stressful thoughts are quieted. Some practiced people can guide themselves to an image, but there are many options where you can buy or listen to guided imagery for free (ie youtube) if you need assistance. Studies have shown that people who practiced guided imagery have decreased stress, anxiety, and even depression. The focused image can also take the mind off of pain and decrease stress that often triggers more pain (such as headaches). Those who have issues sleeping from a busy mind often become so focused on the peaceful image they find it easier to sleep.
