I went to Julian, on the recommendation of my physician, to deal with a difficult, chronic problem. I felt some relief immediately, and have continued working with him resulting in a steady decrease in pain, increased range of motion, and a significant increase in activity endurance. I am very grateful for his kind, professional care, and can recommend him enthusiastically to anyone suffering from body dysfunction and/or pain.
Based on a recommendation from a friend, I called Julian. I did not have knowledge of or experience with Active Release Techniques or Neurokinetic Therapy. However, I was in excruciating pain and desperate for relief. I now refer to Julian as “a miracle worker”. After just three visits, I was walking four miles, back at the gym and sleeping through the night. I am excited about my progress & look forward to running again.
Julian accelerated my healing process for a severe ankle inversion sprain. Three weeks after I’d injured my ankle, it was still swollen, bruised, and painful to walk or run on. After a short session, Julian made corrections that immediately reduced much of the pain. We went over an assortment of exercises to restore lost range of motion and he showed me how to tightly wrap the ankle with cut section of a bike tube to reduce the swelling. The adjustment and exercises set me on a quick course to full recovery. Thanks JC!

About me

I graduated from Cal Poly, with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 2007. After a few years working at Agilent Technologies in Santa Rosa, I discovered my new passion: the human body. Soon I experienced some profound healing through bodywork, (particularly Active Release Technique) - a year later I left my engineering career to help others. I build a picture of where a persons body is, and a roadmap to lead them to a different place through movement and tissue work. I'm passionate about helping others help themselves through educating them about their body.

My Philosophy of Care

The brain, being the central governor and interpreter of all inputs to the body - determines when to feel pain. In order to change that interpretation, we must change the inputs (posture, movement, tension, proprioception) or change the interpreter (beliefs, thoughts, emotions, etc).

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

First step is a phone call and short interview.
Then an in person assessment with detailed neurological, postural, movement, and soft tissue assessments and several test treatments, and a proposed treatment plan.

My Inspiration

At age 27 I developed chronic shoulder pain. After half a year struggling through the western medical system, doctors and physical therapists - I discovered something that worked and a person that really helped. This inspired me to emulate that person and bring my own engineering style thinking to the complex and amazing problem solving process of helping people overcome pain!
