Hello! My name is Laura Fairweather and I am an Integrative Health Coach. I have a passion for helping people live healthier and happier lives. I am here to serve you.
I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life, but my heart holds a special place for people in their second half of life. I am particularly passionate about these individuals because, while working in health care, I witnessed the many challenges they encounter; all too often the world begins to feel out of their control. I am dedicated to empowering people so they can make choices aligned with their philosophies and values.
Caregiver support is also important to me. I recognize that caregivers, personal and professional, are often overlooked or overlook themselves when it comes to health and wellness. Finding balance in life is difficult for anyone, but caregivers often have extra challenges. Helping individuals find manageable ways to get through these challenges is what I do.
As a practitioner, confidentiality and a safe, non-judgmental space are my top priority. I believe play is not just for children and humor can be an effective tool to get through life. My pledge is to coach you with integrity, honor and respect.
I bring over 21 years of experience working in senior health care and a graduate degree from the University of Minnesota Center of Spirituality and Healing in Integrative Therapies and Health Coaching. My training and experience has taught me the importance of having choices, autonomy and a voice in health and lifestyle decisions. I will help you decide what is right for you.
Most of all, I want to hear YOUR story.
Health and happiness are an inside job, so let's begin with you!
As an Integrative Health Coach I partner with a client to clarify their vision of health and create practical goals. All aspects of health are supported in this client-driven collaboration. We explore options aligned with client needs, philosophies and values to discover the course of action that is right for their personal health and well-being.
I believe health coaching fills a huge gap in our medical system. A Health Coach takes the time to authentically listen, ask purposeful questions and aids a client to make choices that are healthy and healing for them. And health is viewed from a comprehensive standpoint; our mind, body and spiritual well-being are interrelated. Doctors and other health professionals often don't have the time to plan goals and make individual behavior changes tailored specifically for each patient. For that reason, a Health Coach can work in conjunction with multiple practitioners and modalities, as well as serve as an accountability partner to help clients manifest their health care improvements. As a result, people are able to take charge of their health, there is a shift towards preventative care and ultimately health care cost will be reduced.
