I just wanted to thank you for our session yesterday. For the first time in weeks, I did not wake up during the night with shoulder pain. And so far today, no pain. I'm keeping your instructions in mind with respect to body mechanics. Looking forward to our next session.
Whatever you did made my back feel so much better. Thank you
I recommend May Kesler, who lives in Chevy Chase and treats patients in her home. You get her full, undivided attention, free parking, and excellent care. I first saw her a couple years ago for whiplash after being rear-ended. Then I went back to her a few weeks ago for some tendinitis and bursitis. Last week, I had a breakthrough in treatment and my shoulder is feeling much better. May is not only a licensed physical therapist, but also a licensed massage therapist. She uses a variety of techniques to work on you, including cold laser therapy, which is great for inflammation.

About me

With more than years of dance training and 33 years of experience and inphysical therapy training, May Kesler has brought her healing touch and expertise in physical and massage therapy and movement dynamics to many people.

May graduated from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, School of Physical Therapy, in 1982, and has years of experience as a physical therapist as well as being a licensed massage therapist.

She specializes in the integration of manual therapies such as myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, mobilization, trigger point release, somatoemotional release, lymphatic drainage, and visceral manipulation.

She adds her more than years of experience as a dancer and her studies in Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais Technique, yoga, and Pilates to her work in exercise and movement reeducation.

Most recently, she has become the only physical therapist in the USA to become a Certified Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Teacher. May is adapting Floor-Barre for those recovering from injuries and musculoskeletal dysfunction. This will bring the Floor-Barre Technique from the elite dancer’s world to help those who need gentle but simply effective strengthening most.

She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the International Association of Health Care Practitioners and the American Bodyworker Massage Professionals.

May’s work is infused with compassion and sensitivity that was forged when her mother, a pediatrician and May’s role model, died of breast cancer when May was a teenager.

May’s devotion to dance started formally in childhood with Helena Baron School of Ballet. This part of her life, coupled with the experiences of healing with her mother, brought May to focus her work on the union of body, mind, spirit and motion in healing.
