The RISE Organization
I help people build their self-esteem and clear away the obstacles that get in the way of their success.
I describe myself as a warrior who has overcome many obstacles in life. I was expelled from college twice, but today I have a Master’s degree. I am a drug addict and alcoholic who was once close to death, but today I have over 36 years of sobriety. I have worked on four college campuses, owned my own business, was a therapist in private practice and today I am an author, speaker, life coach, father, husband, and former drummer in a rock band. I speaks truth. My honest and down to earth approach (sprinkled with loads of humor) is proof that any obstacle can be cleared if you believe in yourself and ask for help along the way. My goal is to help you reach your goals, even the ones you don't know you have yet.
With the help of friends, family, and professionals I was able to turn my life around and come out of the darkness. I believe my life purpose is to help others find their way through the obstacles in their lives, to be the best version of themselves they can be. I also believe that anything is possible if we just get out of our own way.
Refreshing! They feel hope, empowered, and better able to take on the challenges life throws at them.
Coaching is different from therapy. Therapy focuses on how the past has shaped you into the person you are today and helps you overcome past hurts and traumas. Coaching focuses on the present, what's working and not working in your life to help you move toward a more successful future. Sometimes I refer a client to therapy when needed, and a client can also be working with a therapist while doing coaching, but my work centers on helping change thoughts and behaviors so my client can navigate life with less resistance.
