You could not be in better hands.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Robert Ray for the past four years. I first came to him in crisis, seeking relief from debilitating anxiety and depression and hoping to gain insight into its origination. Having a background in holistic health and medicine myself, I was drawn to his then PhD pursuits in Mind-Body Medicine. Dr. Ray provided a welcoming and calming environment from the beginning. His office and his approach offer a sense of positive energy and healing. Our initial sessions included Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) and the use of a photonic stimulator in combination with talk therapy. Dr. Ray is highly knowledgeable and well-trained in the use of LENS, exhibiting an unwavering ethical responsibility to his clients. I am also in awe of his ability to be equally patient, kind, and non-judgmental. He told me from the beginning he would not give up on me – something I had difficulty accepting; yet four years later, here we are. Over time we have also incorporated hypnotherapy and guided imagery into our sessions. I have never met someone as committed to seeking out current trends in research and professional training as Dr. Ray. It is a rarity to find someone as devoted to his clients as he is. I am here today because of Dr. Ray and his commitment to my overall health and well-being. If you are searching for someone who will actively participate in your healing process, I highly recommend him without hesitation.

About me

I use an integrative approach rooted in the evidence-based principles of Mind-Body Medicine, which focus on the interaction among mind and body and the powerful ways in which emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual factors can affect health. This practice is based on the principle that mind and body are interconnected, that any changes in the body will result in psychological change, and any change in the mind will result in physiological change.

Within this framework, psychotherapeutic methods from various schools of psychology may be incorporated as appropriate, such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Analytical Psychotherapy, or Reality Therapy. At those times when a client reveals either a spiritual nature, or expresses a desire to explore any mental health issue through the prism of their religious or spiritual beliefs, those beliefs will be incorporated into the therapeutic process.

Mind-Body techniques that may be used in combination with, or in place of, talk therapy include: isochronic tones, imagery, mindfulness, breathing, meditation, biofeedback, hypnotherapy, and low energy neurofeedback (LENS).

The client in mind-body medicine is understood as a totality of body, mind, and spirit. Many common medical problems are functional or chronic disorders exacerbated by lifestyle, situational stress, and psychosocial factors. The development of a positive and supporting professional relationship is key to providing a trusting, caring and non-judgmental environment in which a client can freely share thoughts and feelings.
