As a daughter of a physician/RN team, I grew up in a military family on a horse ranch, surrounded by cowboys. I believed that I needed to take care of myself, so I learned everything I could to be self-reliant and resilient. My grandmother introduced me to her midwife and natural healing methods, which has become a big part of my life for the last 30 years. In 1984, I experienced a near death in childbirth with my second child, with pre-eclampsia, which got serious. Afterwards, I was referred by a friend to an MD and a DO, who shared an office. They healed me of my imbalances and then preceptered me to learn holistic ways of thinking and treating myself. Because I had gone through nursing school and was a respiratory therapist, it all made wonderful sense to me, so I absorbed quickly, a whole new way of being. I will always be grateful and "pay it forward" to those two doctors and to Dr. John Upledger, who trained me in Upledger CranioSacral Therapeutics. Naturally my own methods evolved, so I developed for those who can benefit from a gentle nudge and support, to learn the art of self correcting, self healing and self maintenance.
A series of events jogged my mind into a state of remembering what I had been taught by my grandmother, my parents and my own medical training. This resulted in being catapulted into the holistic realm of knowledge and thinking.
"With a history of back problems, I was very appreciative of Sally Thomas' CranioSacral Therapy. It has been very helpful and Sally was so nice, informative and helpful to me."
"I appreciated the professionalism and caring of Sally Thomas in CranioSacral Therapy. My knowledge was much enhanced and I left with a goal to learn more and hopefully use this therapy to help my special needs son. I left feeling good physically and spiritually."
"Dear Sally,
Thank you so much for all your help. I had a solid 9 hrs of sleep- dream free, and no tucked arms. I will keep an eye on your schedule and book an 80 minute next week.
Sincerely,
Pat"
You don't have to believe in water to get wet, just be open to experiencing it. This is a gentle touch therapy, which is designed to increase self awareness, so that your body understands how to self correct. I support my clients in accessing their own "Inner Physician," their own inner knowing of what the problem is and how best to solve it, with the support of an experienced therapist who well knows the journey.
An initial session is typically performed, while lying face up on a body therapy table, wearing comfortable, loose clothing. The therapist places hands lightly on the head, feet, diaphragms and other areas of the receiver's concern to palpate dysfunction. Sessions are usually 50 minute or 100 minutes long, with a little time to discuss before and after.
